Hoi An - My Son - Hue - Must-Go Destinations

Today's article I would like to introduce to everyone are tourist cities bordering Da Nang city. Da Nang is a place with the most geographical location for tourism development in Vietnam. In addition, Da Nang is also the center of 3 famous world cultural heritages, namely Hue Ancient Capital, My Son Sanctuary, and Ancient Hoi An. This article is a sharing about the places that I just mentioned.

The first place that I would like to introduce is Hoi An Ancient Town. Surely when anyone comes to Vietnam, they must not miss the old town of Hoi An, this place is 30km from Da Nang City Center, it is not as developed as Da Nang tourism. This land is a city in Quang Nam province with many ancient quarters built in the 16th century and over time it is still intact today. Hoi An was recognized by Unesco as a world heritage site in 1999 and is a popular tourist attraction at home and abroad.
Since 1558, Hoi An has been a place of trade with Western countries and is the busiest international trading port in Southeast Asia. In the 17th and 18th centuries, Hoi An took on an ancient color, both in terms of lifestyle and housing architecture, peaceful ancient alleys, and the symbol here is the pagoda, a familiar symbol of the old town. Every night when sunset has just set, the lanterns fill the streets creating a colorful picture.
Hoi An also has other famous tourist attractions such as Cu Lao Cham Island, Bay Mau Coconut Forest, Thanh Ha Pottery Village ... and many other famous tourist attractions here, maybe I will have a post write more about Hoi An ancient town in the near future.

The second place that I mentioned in My Son Holy Land is in Duy Phu commune- Duy Xuyen district- Quang Nam province. It is 70km from Da Nang city and 40km from Hoi An Ancient Town. My Son Sanctuary is recognized by UNESCO as one of the world heritage sites and is considered the only evidence of the lost Asian civilization. My Son was built in the 4th century through many centuries of formation, this place is a vestige of the Champa era. My Son is greatly influenced by Indian architecture as shown in the inscriptions in Old Sanskrit script.

In terms of architecture, to this day, there are still 68 works and are built into 8 main groups, but with this number, it is still quite modest compared to the whole architecture here, archaeologists have found traces of structures that have completely collapsed over time. About Sculpture the works here were made for religious purposes, spanning many ages with unique and rich artistic skills and minds. To this day, this place is not only a tangible heritage but also an intangible heritage, like the space of the gods present with people, along with the Champa village girls who transformed into apsara goddesses in the dance lulls travelers when they arrive here. This place is surrounded by high mountains and is the tourist connection point of Hoi An Ancient Town and we can visit these two places in one day.

The last place that I want to introduce today is Hue Ancient Capital, this is the first place in Vietnam recognized as a world cultural heritage in 1993. Hue Ancient Capital is about 100km from Da Nang city center, we can travel from Da Nang to Hue by any means, can by road, or train. But choosing the road, we can experience many other tourist attractions on this road. When arriving in Hue Ancient Capital, bwe will admire the famous pass road named Hai Van, this place is the intersection of the sea and the mountains and is one of the beautiful places located on this pass.

Going to Lang Co town where this is a fishing village, there are many bays and lagoons. The sunset here is very beautiful. The seawater is clear blue and the people of the fishing village here are also very friendly and gentle. Going to Hue Ancient Capital, we will discover ancient architectural works that are still intact to this day. One of them is the Imperial Citadel of Hue, also known as the Citadel, built in the 1805s by the first king of the Nguyen Dynasty, King Gia Long. The Nguyen Dynasty was the last feudal dynasty of Vietnam, spanning 143 years with 13 kings.
Besides, we will visit the places of worship of the kings to learn more about these kings. Along with that, we will admire the Huong River, besides this river, there is an ancient temple reflecting on the poetic Huong River creating a lyrical picture.

Costumes are also a prominent feature, attracting a strong impression to many visitors with their meticulous and skillful seams that require strictness in materials and textures. Along with the graceful ao dai beside the conical hat is a beautiful image of Vietnam, Hue is not only famous for historical and cultural places, but it is also a place with delicious traditional dishes such as Banh Beo, Banh Nam, Bun bo Hue, and many other delicious street foods, these are my briefs about Hue ancient capital, later I will have more detailed articles about Hue ancient capital.
