MONOMAD - December 23th - Ao Dai - Traditional beauty preserved through generations of Vietnamese Women

Tomorrow is Christmas, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas with their families.
My post for this week's #monomad challenge is on the topic of traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai. As everyone knows, the Ao Dai is a traditional costume and a cultural feature of the Vietnamese people for generations. Ao Dai brings a charming beauty, respecting the traditional gentle beauty of Vietnamese women. Through many historical periods, the Ao Dai still has a distinctive feature that is hard to confuse. If Japanese women are proud of Kimono costumes, or Korea has a traditional costume of Hanbok and Indian women have a Sari costume, then Vietnam has a traditional dress called Ao Dai.

Through many periods of history, the Ao Dai has undergone many changes. Traditional Ao Dai with long skirts to the feet. Classic collar with a V-shaped cut at the front. The waist is sewn close, highlighting the slim curves of the woman's, exalting the noble beauty of the wearer. Ao Dai is sewn with many different materials, such as silk, velvet, and chiffon. But most will be chosen as a fabric with soft material, to be able to bring comfort to the wearer. Vietnamese women have been wearing the traditional Ao Dai for their school days since they were high school students. In some places, they will wear it for a week, and in other cities, students only wear it on the first days of the week or a special school holiday. Or during the Tet holidays, women always choose for themselves innovative ao dai, with many eye-catching motifs that bring a new and youthful look. Even ao dai is worn on big days, such as weddings or while going to work at banks, airports... The black and white images I want to share today, are I process black and white photos. Although it will not have the color for us to realize the beauty of the Ao Dai. But it brings a lot of artistic properties through each photo.

The first photo is of the woman in traditional white Ao Dai. I took these photos during special holidays and especially it would be beautiful when the Ao Dai taken with the conical hat adds grace to the Ao Dai.

Followed by photos of ao dai, chosen by the woman on the big days of her life. The bride will often choose the Ao Dai, in the ritual of worshiping the ancestors on his wedding day. These are the images that I have taken during the wedding shoots for my clients. I love seeing the happy smiles of the bride on her big day.

The last two photos were taken while taking photos of the student yearbook. Usually after the final exams. Students will often choose ao dai, for photos to celebrate their graduation day.
As everyone has seen, the Ao Dai has always been a pride of the Vietnamese nation and we can see it everywhere when we come to my beautiful country. Ao Dai is not only a traditional Vietnamese costume, but it is also a cultural and artistic beauty of Vietnam. Would you like to wear this traditional costume?
