La Candelaria Church, Carabobo - Venezuela [ENG/ESP]
For this edition, I have as a publication on another structure, which is within the religious foundations, and specifically of Catholicism, and as I mentioned in previous posts about this type of buildings, it is not about highlighting those foundations in religion, but in its importance as architectural and historical heritage for the city where this church is located, which is named La Candelaria.
The church La Candelaria, its name is because it is located in one of the most important parishes of the city of Valencia, Carabobo state, and has approximately a little over 200 years of existence, so you can find many buildings that are still maintained, with that older architectural style, even from the colonial, through the republican, and the church is a faithful example of its great significance as heritage for the city. Originally built by a group of Spanish canaries, who came to live in Venezuela in those years, where initially this temple was built with traditional materials such as cane, adobe and sand, which of course over time have been restored.
Para esta edición, tengo como publicación sobre otra estructura, que se encuentra dentro de los fundamentos religiosos, y en específico del catolicismo, y como bien mencionaba en post anteriores sobre este tipo de edificaciones, que no se trata de resaltar esos fundamentos en la religión, sino en su importancia como patrimonio arquitectónico e histórico para la ciudad donde se encuentra esta iglesia, que se tiene como nombre La Candelaria.
La iglesia La Candelaria, su nombre se debe a que se encuentra en unas de las parroquias más importantes de la ciudad de Valencia, estado Carabobo, y tiene aproximadamente un poco más de 200 años de existencia, por lo cual se puede encontrar muchas construcciones que aun se mantienen, con ese estilo arquitectónico más antiguo, incluso desde la colonial, pasando por la republicana, y dicha iglesia, es un fiel ejemplo de su gran significado como patrimonio para la ciudad. Construidas originalmente por un grupo de canarios españoles, quienes vinieron hacer vida en Venezuela por aquellos años, donde inicialmente este templo fue construido con materiales tradicionales como la caña, adobe y arena, que por supuesto a través del tiempo lo han ido restaurando.
The above is a brief reference of the history of this church, and it is so important for the inhabitants, that until a few months ago, since the date of this publication, this religious precinct was about to fall due to its poor condition, so many people of the community, insisted to the local government, the fact of rescuing this church. Because it had many leaks, and practically the entire roof was falling down. Of course, so the government had to take charge of this situation, and for several months they worked on the restoration of the church, which at first glance as we see in the photos, we can consider that an effective restoration was made, even with a new layer of color, because previously it was totally white.
Of course, during the whole restoration, the church was closed, for all the followers who constantly attended the church, so in that sense it was affected all religious activities, which are of great importance for the devout inhabitants of the parish.
Lo dicho anteriormente, es una breve referencia de la historia de esta iglesia, y es tanta la importancia para los habitantes, que hasta hace unos meses atrás, desde la fecha de esta publicación, este recinto religioso estuvo a punto de caerse por su mal estado, por lo que muchos personas de la comunidad, insistieron al gobierno local, el hecho de rescatar esta iglesia. Debido a que tenía muchas filtraciones, y prácticamente todo el techo se estaba cayendo. Por supuesto, por lo que el gobierno tuvo que hacerse a cargo de esta situación, y durante varios meses trabajaron en la restauración de la iglesia, que a simple vista como vemos en las fotos, podemos considerar que se hizo una restauración efectiva, incluso con una nueva capa de color, porque anteriormente era totalmente blanco.
Por supuesto, durante toda la restauración, la iglesia estuvo cerrada, para todo los seguidores que asistían constantemente a la iglesia, por lo que en ese sentido estuvo afectado todas las actividades religiosas, qie son de gran importancia para los habitantes devotos de la parroquia.
In another important point, in this church previously there was a painting of the acclaimed Valencian painter Arturo Michelena, although at some point that painting was stolen from the church, in addition the church also has a painting of another Valencian painter Braulio Salazar. For these reasons also the church has a significant artistic and cultural value.
Now, in the aspect of its design and architecture, this church as we see in its facade, is constituted by three large main doors, and several windows, with a more eclectic and republican style, although it has been modified for many years with modern materials, so that it can endure its structures. On the other hand, on the facade we see a cupola, where the bell tower is located and on the right side another tower, while we also see false columns throughout the structure along with ornamental designs, very characteristic of this church that highlight its beauty as a structure and religious temple.
En otro punto importante, en esta iglesia anteriormente se encontraba un cuadro del aclamado pintor valenciano Arturo Michelena, aunque en algún momento esa pintura fue hurtado de la iglesia, además la iglesia cuenta también con una pintora de otro pintor valenciano Braulio Salazar. Por estas razones también la iglesia tiene un valor significativo el lo artístico y cultural.
Ahora, en el aspecto de su diseño y arquitectura, esta iglesia como vemos en su fachada, esta constituida por tres puestas grandes de manera principales, y varias ventanas, con un estilo más ecléctico y republicano, aunque ya ha sido modificada durante muchos años con materiales modernos, para que pueda perdurar sus estructuras. Por otro lado, en la fachada vemos una cupula, donde se encuentra el campanario y por el lado derecho otra torre, mientras que también vemos columnas falsas por toda la estructura conjuntamente con diseños ornamentales, muy característicos de esta iglesia que la resaltar su belleza como estructura y templo religioso.

What a beautiful church, and I am not saying this to exalt the catholic structure, but for the beauty of its facade, and with that yellow color so atypical in this type of buildings. I would like to know if the work of Master Arturo Michelena was returned or if it is still lost. I did not know this church, which are always interesting, even if you do not commune with the faith they represent.

Beautiful church. Vestige of our history. I am fascinated by the design of the columns, the different windows?... upper doors...? with their "balconies" and the large doors located at the entrance. They are beautiful. Also the burnt yellow color with which the church is painted.
Also very striking are the balustrade railings on the roof of the church.
