DO YOU DREAD GOING TO WORK EVERY MORNING?

avatar

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog at this hour. If you wake up every single morning feeling bad about the thought of going to work, then there is a cause for alarm. This kind of feeling will affect your happiness and overall health on the long run. It is normal for people to get frustrated, disapprove with the way they are being treated at work or feel the heat of the stress of working at the establishment. In this case, the obvious way out is to quit the job and look for a better one but it is not always that easy especially in countries where getting a job is difficult. Well, sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.

Before we continue, take some moment to think about your job and provide honest answers to the following questions.

  • What part of the job do you enjoy?
  • Is the job adding value to you in any way?
  • What areas do you think your company can improve? Increasing salary? Introduction of bonuses/allowances? Employing more hands?
  • Do the staff need sensitization about bullying and other work ethics?

If you are able to answer these questions honestly you'd realize that you do not hate everything about the job but it is only a part that you hate. You may dread going to work because you feel you work from morning to evening only to be paid peanuts as salary. It may also be that you detest seeing your boss or supervisor because of the way he or she treats staff. There are several reasons why people hate their jobs but it is vital to focus on the positive - the part that you like. You can write to complain about these issues if the Company is open to welcoming suggestions from their staff which I believe every institution should encourage.

Moreso, you also have a role to play in order to enjoy your job more and this have to do with starting your day the right way. Trust me if you wake up with the thought of hating some aspects of your work then you have successfully ruined your day. You are more likely to be productive at work if you begin your day with a positive mindset about your job and everything around you. Even though you may not have a say about some areas of your job but you must have control over your emotions. Like I said in my last post, create regular morning routine such as waking up early, working out, reading books, listening to mindlifting songs etc.

More importantly, do not join colleagues to speak badly about the job as it may turn into a serious breach of work ethics that may affect your career. You may get sacked from the job and even get labeled with a bad name. Learn how to mind your business and ignore every form of negative conversations that is not going to promote the interest of the business. You should be in conversations that will solve problems and not the ones that will add fuel to the fire. Do your best possible to stay away from people that are trying to engage you in conversations that have negative intent. In short, always mind your business and stay away from gossips.

In addition, create a healthy and positive relationship with your colleagues, customers, and people who own business close to you. It is not something good to hold grudges against someone who you see every day - if this happens you will not be happy for a moment. You should also remember the reason you got the job which may have to do with catering for the needs of yourself and your family. Do not let one or two people who you met at the job make you feel bad about your job. Stay focused and always find reasons to be happy.
