Hello everyone and welcome to my blog at this hour. Countless number of times, when you are driving on the highway, you'd see motorists or passengers throw their empty can of drink, plastic bags, food packaging and so on out of their moving vehicles which will pile up and mess the whole environment up. It is these little litters that make heaps of dirts that are seen on major roads. Well, sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.

There is low sensitization and awareness in this part of the world in respect to littering and it shows their level of civilization and mentality. There is no doubt that someone who can eat a snack, and throw away the nylon on the streets does not belong to the class of people who benefits from civilization.

So many people are more interested in the neatness of their vehicle rather than the environment, so they dispose of their waste on the roads while driving. Even pedestrians also contribute to this menace as well as shop owners who prefer to dump their refuses inside the drainage or nearby rivers.

Littering on the road has become a phenomenon in Malaysia. Often, people arbitrarily throw the trash out of their vehicles regardless of the security of other road users especially motorcyclists. The act of throwing trash out of vehicles have become almost a norm in some parts of Nigeria, not considering if the trash will distort the movement of other motorists, motorcyclists, or pedestrians, as well as forming large heaps of trash on the roads.

Disposing waste such as food wrappers, nylons, bottles while on the wheels can cause harm to other people using the roads. Some of these waste items can be easily blown by the wind and it can block the screen of oncoming vehicles leading to accidents. A can of drink that is thrown out of a moving vehicle can make the cars, bikes or motorcycle coming from behind lose focus thereby causing havoc.

Dumping of refuse on the road can also lead to environmental pollution which affect the health of people that live around the place. Heaps of litters can become a source of mosquitoes that could cause malaria. Flies, rats, maggots can also be groomed under these conditions which causes havoc to the health of residents.

It is important to keep the streets neat at all times because it is the route that is used by all and sundry including people who are visiting the location for the first time. A street that looks so dirty can give a bad impression about a city or country at large.

Above all, people should be sensitized about the effects of littering roads. There should also be punishment in place for people who are caught in the act which include paying of fines or community service.

It has become the norm of some people to intentionally litter the environment with their food and drinks packaging, used clothes, papers etc. It is a societal problem that needs to be addressed in order to reduce the risks that ensues from it.

Thanks for stopping by.
