WHY DOES MY CHILDREN NEVER CALL ME?

Good morning everyone and welcome to my blog at this hour. It's Monday, the beginning of a new week and this morning I will be talking about something that most of us pay less attention to in our lives. We have so many excuses to justify our wrong actions but it will do us more good if we create time from our schedules to do it. What is it that I'm talking about? Sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.

There is a touching story that I came about on social media about an old man, a very old man who took his phone to a phone technician to fix the phone for him. After several diagnosis the phone repairer told the old man that there is nothing wrong with his phone and that every part of his phone is working well. He further stated that he has even used his own phone to call the phone and the phone rang.

The old man started weeping and biting his fingers in agony. The phone technician was surprised and curious as to why the man is crying when he heard the information that his phone is working fine. He asked the man what the problem is and the old man asked him "if my phone is working fine so why are my children not calling me to check on me?" The phone technician tried to console him but the man asked another question in the process - "Do you call your parents too?" The phone technician's reaction showed that he's also guilty. He looked down and was ashamed of himself.

The old man ask that he do him a favour, that should pick up his phone and talk to his parents and do it often and often. He said that irrespective of how busy he is at work he should always create time to check on his aged parents. He further explain to him that he felt his phone was bad and that was the reason why his children could not reach him. He continued to say that he came with some amount of money to buy a new phone so that his children can reach him anytime they want to talk to him but he is so sad that is phone is good and his children do not even think about him at all even at his old age.

He left the technician's shop in so much sadness.

The lesson from this story is very simple and straight forward. It's just us to always check on our parents no matter how busy we are. They would appreciate our five minutes phone call so much that it would mean a lot to them. We often give excuses of work, work and work but we fail to understand that we are the only one our parents have and in order to make them happy you need to constantly talk to them or even pay them a visit.

In this new week, I challenge you if you are not always checking up on your parents to start from this week.

I've read about this story too and it was very emotional. I think this really sets an example that we receive what we create. I think that this story also emphasizes the importance of checking up on our parents as they are the ones who will care for us no matter what.
