Thanksgiving Service with the Brethren of the MCGI. 21st Oct. 2023... Wisdom The Principals Thing.

Greetings dear Brothers and Sisters in the Lord. Today, I had the opportunity once again to join in the Thanksgiving service of the MCGI. In today's Thanksgiving service, Brother Daniel shared a message that truly inspired us. He talked about the great significance of actively seeking and using the wisdom and understanding that come from God. He referenced various scriptures to emphasize how important it is for us to seek wisdom and follow God's instructions. I'd like to take this opportunity to share my reflection on what I learnt.

Brother Daniel's message was all about the importance of understanding that wisdom is a priceless gift that comes from God.

Proverbs 4:7 KJV
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

He made it clear that genuine wisdom is something God provides and made us to understand that the wisdom we need in life is a special gift from God.

From Proverbs 2:1 KJV
My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

He made us to understand that wisdom first comes through receiving the word of God

Proverbs 2:2 KJV
So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

So it is through receiving the word of God and keeping his commandments that we incline our ears to wisdom.

Proverbs 2:3-4 KJV
Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; [4] If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

We can also see as the scriptures continue to teach us that, just as we labour to find silver and gold, through hard work, diligence and Commitment, we must seek wisdom as such. This makes us to understand that if we truly want wisdom, we must be diligent as getting it, through studying the word of God.

Proverbs 2:5-8 KJV
Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. [6] For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. [7] He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. [8] He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

Proverbs 2:9-12 KJV
Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. [10] When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; [11] Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: [12] To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;

We see here the benefits of having this Godly wisdom.

I again learnt today through the teachings of Brother Daniel that true wisdom is the word of God and the obedience of it.

Ephesians 5:17 KJV
Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Not knowing and understanding God's will is not wise.

Colossians 3:16 KJV
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

You see again from Colossians that the word of God dwelling in you is wisdom.

Deuteronomy 4:5-6 KJV
Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. [6] Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

It said in verse 6 that this is your wisdom. This means that the laws of God is the wisdom of God. And when we know and obey them, then we are truly wise.

Again, Brother Daniel encouraged us to demonstrate our wisdom through our actions and conversations. He emphasized that our wisdom is evident in how we behave and interact with others. Making reference to:

James 3:13
"Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good conduct."

The real wisdom of God is shown in our conduct and the way we engage with others.

We saw from

Jeremiah 6:16 KJV
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

That the ways of God is the Good path and way God expects us to follow. It is this ways that makes us to live a wise life. If we want to find rest for the soul, we must walk in the good way.

How then do we get wisdom

Psalm 111:10 KJV
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

The bible makes us to understand that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. And they that do his commandments have good understanding. This is clearly written to us. If we want wisdom we must respect God's word and obey his commandments.

Acts 10:35
But in every nation, he that fears Him and works righteousness is accepted with Him.

We also see that God the giver of true wisdoms accepts only those who fear him and do his commandments. Brother Daniel reminded us that to please God, we must leave righteous lives and fear Him. Living in accordance with His commandments and in righteousness is pleasing to the Almighty.
Pleasing God requires living righteously and abiding by His commandments.

Conclusion:

Brother Daniel's message in today's Thanksgiving service offered profound insights into the pursuit of wisdom, understanding God's will, and living in alignment with His commandments. By seeking divine wisdom, living wisely, and pleasing God through righteousness, we can experience spiritual growth and enjoy the blessings of a life guided by God's wisdom and grace. I really hope this reflection have been a blessing to you. I hope to see you join us this Monday for the continuation of our Mass Indoctrination. Until then, may the Peace of God be with you.
