Homonyms: my volleyball experience

One game I wanted to talk about would have been candy crush as most of its levels are hard ASF making me want to break my phone after several attempts without winning but I'll skip it and talk of the physical game I played back in highschool which I dread till today.

It was the gaming period and we had a competition against another school. Students were put in different groups and my group was to compete in the girls volleyball against girls from another school.

It was my first time ever having to play volleyball, I wanted to decline being a part of it but my teacher asked me to be useful for once which really hurt me. I was put there to complete the number of girls needed so I didn't have a choice at all. We practiced a few times and I was hit on the nose once during the practice, that was when I knew that the game wasn't for me but I just couldn't speak up.

When the day for the competition came, our female opponents looked so fierce and strong that my mind had already processed how they'll hit the Ball with all their might. Fear immediately took over me and the only thing I could think of was how I was going back home with ice on my nose or eye.

I feared for my head too and so when I saw the ball coming close to me I ran out while yelling on my team mate's name to get it. When I did that like three times, my couch started yelling at me and barking orders like a dog that wanted to jump into the court and bite my skin off.

I almost cried that day but I was glad that I had my glasses on. I hate volleyball so much because the force used in hitting the ball is something I can't stand. The ball we used was made of hard leather and so I thought it could destroy my face. I was so scared and I think it was fear that made me misbehave so much causing our opponents to win cause everytime I had the opportunity to hit the ball back, I let it pass and the points were counted for them.

After that game, everyone sang my name with disgust in their voices. I hated school even more and stayed away for days which my mother had to understand.

Whenever my mom wants to tease me, she uses it and I just laugh about it. I just can't find myself playing games where balls are thrown in the air. I wouldn't catch it at all. I'd rather leave it to go wherever it wants than try to get it ending up with a broken nose or red eye.

It reminds me so much of the way I felt about sports when I grew up. I still don't really like sports but I don't mind also. The more you get involved in something the easier it gets because you get better at it. Lucky for me there are enough different sports to choose from.
