Rainy, rainy day + domestic accident

Today started off with so much activities right from the moment I woke up in the morning. I had to prepare myself for work, and set out as early as I could in order to avoid the morning rush. Unfortunately, it started raining not quite long after I left the house and you know how messy it could be when it rains especially when you are dressed for work in the morning. I managed to get to work before the resumption time even though it was quite stressful due to the fact that cabs were scarce.

It has been a usual occurrence that the rain starts when the office is about to close in the evening as well. I tried to link up with a colleague that is going my direction in order to make my movement easy. Apart from that, I try to leave work as early as possible and go home after the close of work before it gets dark due to the recent rise in insecurity in the country. The crime rate have increased so much lately and one of the popular one is one chance - drivers who try to steal from their passengers with the help of their gangs who pose as passengers as well.

What added to the stress of the day is when a minor home accident occurred in the kitchen to one of my niece that is in our house to spend her holidays when we were preparing dinner. She was frying plantain when the frying pan slipped and some oil poured on her legs. It can be very painful when a hot content spills on the skin. This gave everyone in the house so much concern we had to apply a first aid treatment by rubbing "ori" shea butter on the surface and gave her some pain reliever to reduce the pain.

Considering the long day I had at work I was just hoping to get home to catch some rest and prepare for the next day. But this incident distorted my plans a bit because we had to make sure the pain reduced, then she ate a bit and she was able to sleep. You can relate if you have had hot water or oil burns at one point or the other. This one isn't too serious but we are quite concerned because she's still a little girl that may not be able to accommodate so much pain.
