It is normal to feel disappointed and sad after experiencing a breakup in a relationship that you have devoted so much time and energy to. In some cases it may even lead to depression. But as time goes by, you may come to the conclusion that the relationship didn't work probably because it wasn't meant to be and you start recovering from the heart break.
Then, as the healing process continues you may at some point begin to have a change of mind about the relationship because you are still in love with your ex. This feeling could be triggered when you are in your state of loneliness and you begin to remember the beautiful memories you have shared. Perhaps, you saw a photograph you both took on your phone or a lovely gift he or she gave you when the relationship was still glooming. These sweet memories may cloud your emotions and make you contemplate on giving your ex another chance.
First and foremost, you need to remember that you broke up for a reason. These reasons must be put into consideration before thinking of bringing your ex back into your life. Let's take for instance, you forgive your ex because they cheated on you and you guys continued your relationship but because they broke your trust the first time you were always suspicious of their actions which led to the break up. It was difficult for you to be open to them like you used to and it make you guys grow apart. No relationship may survive if the trust factor isn't strong. Are you sure you can trust your partner one more time?
Communication is the bedrock of a relationship because it promotes close connection. You may have broke up with your partner because they always avoid serious conversations, sweep issues under the carpet instead of addressing them or even yelling when they are supposed to deal with issues in a calm manner. Even though disagreements are highly recommended in a relationship, it is not advisable to always argue blindly or in a destructive way. You must know that it will be wrong to consider returning to a relationship where you can't communicate effectively and respectfully. If either you or your ex have not worked on your communication skills it may a hell to consider rekindling such a relationship.
It will be a great mistake to think of going back to your ex because you miss the great sex you had during the relationship. There is oftentimes no connection between sex and emotions, it is more of physical attractions. The two of you may have a great sexual chemistry but it does not mean that you love each other. Therefore, it is possible that these hot moments flood your thoughts during your lonely moments after the break up and you're tempted to call your ex. Think about it carefully before you make that call.
Most of the time that people think of going back to their ex is because they do not have friends to talk to or spend time with after the break up. Most people have built their world around their partner, they are the only one with whom they share every moment with and when they break up they have nowhere to go or noone to speak to. The only option may be to call their ex back and not think about the reasons they left the relationship at first.
There are so many ways to stay strong after breaking up with your partner that will help you overall wellbeing such as showing love to yourself, make yourself happy, take time to do things that make you happy and anticipate a better tomorrow.
