The Verge

Despite his highly negative potential for the world of cryptocurrencies (in general), Justin Sun still has a very relevant force for the market because, among other types of investments, he is the owner of Tron, a blockchain network that focuses on marketing of gambling and gaming applications. Involved in the most diverse types of controversies, this time, he is being formally accused of violating the rules of real estate values.

The cryptocurrency tycoon is going to have to fight the SEC over a recent lawsuit that was filed against him in federal court in New York. In the suit, there are allegations that Sun owns and controls companies that have so far been used to handle securities that have yet to be registered. In parallel, he is also being accused of breaking anti-fraud rules and market manipulation for his own benefit within this scheme.

According to the Director of the SEC Enforcement Division (Gurbir Grewal): “Sun and others used an old playbook to deceive and harm investors by first offering securities that did not meet registration and disclosure requirements and then manipulating the market for those same securities”. This brought a very negative repercussion for Sun, who seems to be reaping the “fruits” that he sowed in the past.

The SEC lawsuit also accuses him of executing a sophisticated fraudulent scheme aimed at (artificially) inflating a high trading volume of the native cryptocurrency of the Tron network (Tronix) within the secondary market. So far Sun has not officially commented on these controversies, but the fact is that his name is increasingly dirty within the market and his bad reputation now gains extra strength to go straight to the mud.

Is this the same case where the SEC accused him of paying celebrities to promote his shit coin and they did not disclose it? I was reading the BBC news and a bunch of celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Jake Paul are involved. He's a joke, thinks he can do whatever he wants

He seems to consistently think he's above the law, and above reproach... and evidently believes you can do whatever you want if you just throw enough money at it...
