Happy No Bra Day!

Amongst all of the remarkable things attached to today's date is the No Bra Day. The idea behind going braless on October 13th is to serve as awareness for breast cancer, October being the breast Cancer Awareness Month. It originated in Toronto, Canada on October 19th 2011 at a medical event that brought awareness to reconstructive surgery for breast cancer survivors.

Women post photos of themselves braless and those who aren't comfortable doing that wear colour purple to raise awareness for breast examination after taking off the bras.

I personally do not subscribe to baring it all in allegiance to no bra day like I see on social media but I'm all for ditching bras as there are less stressful options. They're so uncomfortable and women shouldn't be judged for not wearing one if they don't want to.

So it's a good day to remind you to check your breasts today. You can check here for how to carry out a proper self-examination.

My male friends kept jokingly asking me why I was wearing a bra 😆
I think as usual social media has turned the importance of the no bra day into nudity but to each their own.

I obviously don’t have to worry about bras but I’m totally with you. I always felt suspicious of these “solidarity” campaigns, they are often just used as an opportunity to gain or maintain status. But I’m all for woman dressing however they want, bra or no bra, shaved or unshaved, no reason to shame if they are happy with themselves.
