How I Met Your Father

This week's question is all about firsts and I choose to answer the very last option,

Tell us about the first time you met your current partner - Where did you meet, was it a set up date or happenstance and was it instant attraction or did it rise slowly like the incoming tide? - If you like you may do a fictional story for this one, or post about the true story.

The story of how I met my partner is one I don't know how to tell to my daughters in the future. In other circumstances, the way I met him could have gone wrong and that's a situation no parent wants for their kids. A few days to my wedding my dad wanted to know exactly how I met my partner and when I told him, he was speechless.

It's actually nothing outrageous but when you consider everything that goes on around you, it becomes worrying taking some kind of risk. Anyway, this is a story of how I met my kids' father.

I had just gone through a breakup and was tweeting sad stuff for several days. I had people sending me messages to make sure I was good but one stuck out for me. This follower I didn't know and had only interacted with his tweet one time replied one of my sad tweets saying if I needed to talk, he was there.

So I hit him up the next day and we got talking, exchanged pleasantries, and then I gave him details about the breakup. I just wanted to talk to a stranger and this one, in particular, was very encouraging. He advised me to move on to bigger things and within a few minutes he was telling me about steemit hive. He also got me on some online campaigns to gain some rewards.

We continued texting after that day (we haven't gone a day without talking to each other since that day) and we moved to video calls from there. We never really spoke about romantic stuff, we'd be on the phone for hours and he'd make jokes. I liked him already so when he joked about coming to visit him in his city, I jumped on it 😉

I had only known him a few days but one week later, I was in his city. We didn't talk much when he came to pick me up at the train station and in the cab ride to his place we kept smiling at each other and I leaned into him like I had known him forever.

One stolen kiss later, I knew I wanted to be with him and here we are. Thankfully, I didn't get into danger travelling to see someone I had only talked to for a week on the phone.

Our in-person meeting was a completely different vibe from our earlier conversations and took a romantic turn. I honestly had no idea I was going to meet a boyfriend and new best friend, talk more my future husband.

And that, kids, is how I met your father.

Wawuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
This is one daring story…

I’m super glad it worked out for you both. The beautiful thing is how things gradually developed to where you guys currently are and I am here for it…

I pray you both truly enjoy marriage and the blessings that come with it @wolfofnostreet

Seems like the guy is an alpha Mac daddy, extremely smooth operator and vigorously sexy.

Never met him but it's just a guess

That is a very romantic story. It could have gone horribly wrong, but it didn't. I wonder how many good offers we refuse because modern life is rife with dangers and scams. I met the love of my life through a Craigslist ad. People can never get over that! Craigslist doesn't even have personals anymore. I think you have a wonderful story to tell. With the caveat for your kids to never do that! Haha.

It's not exactly the right footsteps to follow. I'd advise them to be careful.

Wish you both the best in your marriage.

Thank you @carlynn
