In love Again

It was going to be one of the hardest things to do judging from the fact that they just got out of a rough patch in their relationship.

Raya had never been a 'relationship believer'. She believed in flings and one night stands until she met Josh.

Raya actually met Josh at a bar . It was love at first sight but Raya wouldn't know this because it was a decade since she last fell in love.

Josh walked up to her that night and they had a good time. Like you can guess, it ended up as a one night stand or a two night stand because they met the next day.

Their affinity kept growing and their love kept sprouting. Raya didn't believe the things love made her do. She was doing the dishes, cooking, cleaning and avoiding one night stands! Unbelievable right?

They waxed strong in love until Raya caught Josh cheating on her, not just with any girl but with his secretary. Raya was on fire. She got very furious as she thought of all the things she had given up for Josh.

She called the relationship off but Josh didn't agree with her.

"I'd give you some time to clear your head but I'd be back. I'm really sorry" were his words.

"How Pathetic!" Raya thought. He cheats on me and still has the guts to tell me trash?

She tried going back to her old ways to spite Josh but she just couldn't. It had been two years since she moved in with Josh and her life had changed.

Normally she would walk up to a bar, drink herself to stupor, find the nearest available man to keep for the night and repeat the same procedure every other night but things were different.

Three months after she took a break from her relationship, she got a call from Josh. He asked to meet her and she agreed. Before now, she had tried all possible ways to get Josh out of her head but he just wouldn't go out. She arrived at the sit out and saw Josh already waiting for her.

"You asked to see me. How may I help you?" Raya spoke, trying to sound very professional.

"You look really stunning." Josh said.

He sure knew how to melt her heart every time.

"Thank you for agreeing to see me. Would you like to take anything?" He asked.

" A smoothie would do," Raya replied.

Josh beckoned on the waiter and ordered two glasses of smoothie.

" Raya, this may sound very awkward but life hasn't been the same without you. I know that men are supposed to be strong but I just can't take it anymore. Three months have been enough torture. Please can you forgive me? I truly am sorry. I didn't mean to…." He was interrupted

"Two smoothies as ordered," the waiter said with a smile. She served them and walked away. Josh watched as Raya took a sip, her lips looking softer than normal. She drove him insane each time he looked at her.

" Sorry for the interruption. Like I was saying, I didn't mean to sleep with my secretary. I was tipsy and she took advantage of me. I won't want to point fingers at anyone because I am also to blame. Raya darling, please come back to me. I promise to never hurt you again".

Raya carefully observed as she took little sips of her smoothie. His eyes were watery, his face dreary, his arms looked weary and he looked really sincere.

"Okay Josh, I'd give you a second chance" she said. He obviously deserved a second chance. He earned it for being her first love in a long time.

"But I swear to you, if you hurt me one more time, then that would be the end of us." She warned him.

"I promise never to hurt your purposely Raya hunnay" he said.

She had missed him calling her 'hunnay'. It was a new phase of her life. She could never trust him fully again.
