Loss of my Tooth

A story of a brief part of my life that marked a significant change in my life.A year after I got acquainted with my best friend, Dhee, I got into a contest with her.

We were just having our regular childhood fun at her mom's shop when our elder siblings got into an argument. One party was supporting the fact that I had more skills at combat than Dhee and the other party was against that fact.

To end the argument, they put us to work. More like, they put us in the battle ground. Dhee and I were kept in a confined area and we were told to fight.

I wasn't brought up that way. My parents would scold me or even beat me up if I was involved in any form of fight and so I was totally against the idea. The spectators were cheering and screaming that we should fight.
Here's a little tip:Dhee was plus sized and as such had the upper hand. Her hands were strong.

They kept cheering and I kept saying that I won't engage in such an atrocious act. Few seconds later, I felt pains in my right jaw. Dhee threw the first punch! She freaking three the first punch!! Like wahhhhhht!? At that point I felt betrayed. I looked at the people who were cheering me and they all had that "she's weak" looknon their faces.

Feeling betrayed, I didn't want to feel like a failure too and so I went in for my own punch. I had so much anger in me. My mind had so many questions. "Did she really just punch me? I thought we were best friends! After this fight, I won't speak to her again". I kept throwing punches and I think I hit her at the wrong spot because a few minutes later, I felt blood dripping from mouth.

When our elder saw the blood, they came to separate the fight but Dhee was still very angry and wanted to keep throwing punches. I on the other had felt betrayed, broken and also I lost a tooth. I was about to face another round of scolding and possibly ass whooping because I got involved in a fight. It was terrible.

I noticed that I didn't bring out blood from Dhee and so I broke loose and went straight for her eyes with my tiny fingers, I guess I brought out a little bit of blood from her chin and then I was scooped to my house. I was obviously scolded a whole lot but yes, I felt a bit fulfilled

That day was a significant one because the tooth that was punched out when I was about six years old hasn't still grown fully up to date. It's just there, laying around with retarded growth.

We probably forgot about such things but yes the evidence is still there. I was reminiscing on past events and that ran through my mind, how crazy!

With love, Wongi 😊
