Please Don't Destroy|| A Treasure Hunt.

The first question I asked myself after seeing this movie was "what would I do with 100 million dollars?". I'd like to throw that question to everyone. What would you do with this amount of money? Go on a vacation? Buy yourself a fancy apartment by the beach? Get a private jet?

Also, I probably would have gotten pissed at the title of this movie if the movie wasn't worth the watch. Why would a title be so long? I'm used to the 3-5 word titles but "Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure Of Foggy Mountain" was a game changer.

This movie should be a reminder to all the #dreemers out there about the upcoming treasure hunt. Are you all excited about the treasure hunt? I know I am.

About The Movie

Three childhood best friends set out on a journey to find a hidden treasure hidden in a foggy mountain. Along the line, they encounter some casualties like desperate park rangers and a hypocritical cult leader. Their goal is to ward off the casualties and go home happily after finding the treasure. Do they accomplish this goal? Only one way to find out.

Released on the 17th of November, 2023, the movie is a comedy film directed by Paul Briganti. It spans for a duration of one hour and thirty-two minutes and all I can say is that it was totally worth watching.

I like movies that are educational and fun. Many people stick with the stereotype that learning is boring
So, finding a movie that teaches important life hacks in a fun way is definitely a catch.

Cast

John Higgins

I did a little research and it turns out that John Higgins is indeed related to Steve Higgins.

John played the role of a somewhat lonely adult and one part of the trio who set out to find the treasure. He was like the mastermind behind the whole trip. It may please you to know that he planned this trip with an ulterior motive and somewhere along the line, this motive was achieved.

Ben Marshal

Ben was the second friend in the trio. He was that kid who constantly kept trying to impress his father; in other words, he painstakingly tried to live up to his dad's standards but along the line, he learnt a vital lesson.

Ben was a firm supporter of both of his friends and he made it clear that he could do anything to make these friends happy

Martin Herlihy

In my opinion, Martin fit the role he played perfectly. I'm certain the movie director didn't have to make so many modifications to this particular character.

Martin was the third member of the trio who was in a serious relationship with a devout church goer. Their bind was a really amusing one as it also proved the theory that 'unlike poles attract'.

Bowen Yang

The introduction of this character made things even more interesting. Bowen happened to be one of the very first treasure hunters who sought out the treasure at the foggy mountain but as you must have already guessed, he failed.

Deciding not to be a total failure, he started a cult. The cult was basically made up of treasure hunters who came after him and had failed too. A perfect demonstration of 'a bunch of losers'.

However, I liked how well he played his role while still managing to maintain his status as a respected cult leader.

My Opinion

I kept laughing intermittently inbetween scenes but my mind didn't register the fact that this was a satirical movie. Why? A majority of the 'treasure hunt' movies I've seen have been under the 'adventure' and 'thrills' genre. Seeing something different for a change felt really nice.

The interesting part of it all was the way the casts acted. They looked totally clueless but somehow, it felt like they knew exactly what they were doing.

Also, I loved how important lessons were taught. The movie basically centred around friendship and how beautiful it is but the script writer ensured that he saliently stated the fact that as we grow and progress in life, our friends may trade different paths. This doesn't mean that we've been erased from their memory. It only means that they are not stagnated. This also throws more light on the fact that true friendship bonds are never really broken.

Recommendation

I would gladly recommend this movie to everyone. It promises to be hilarious. Even if you're not in the mood for satirical or funny movies, you're certainly going to learn a thing or two from this piece of magnificence.

It is going to be worth your time, so why not give it a shot?

PS:wanna learn one of the easiest ways to distabilise people in self defence? This is the movie for you.
