The initials of Kruger-Gray KG remained to the left of the beaver. The chrome-plated 5-cent steel pieces remained until the 1955 issue, when nickel was used again. It's a special piece for the Canadian Bank.

The Iconic beaver has graced the Canadian 5 Cents since 1937, some people still think of them as pests for damming up water supplies like creeks and rivers.
