NO. DEPLETION OF OZONE LAYER DOES NOT CAUSE GLOBAL WARMING… and here’s why

I was reading an article on global warming a few days ago, and when I got to the causes of global warming, I was a bit surprised because I didn’t see ozone layer depletion listed as one of the causes.

That was puzzling for me because I had always thought the contrary.

I mean, the ozone layer literally shields the earth from the sun, so why would its depletion not have any effect on the temperature of the earth?
I decided to read more articles.

More than ten global warming articles by professional scientific websites were studied by me that day, and none of them had ozone layer depletion as a cause of global warming.

At that point, there were two possibilities; either the entire internet was pulling a prank on me, or I had been wrong for many years.
I didn’t like either of the two so I proceeded to do what I did best… research.

And ladies and gentlemen... and robots, I’m glad to announce that I now know the truth.
Time for the breakdown...

Most people think the sun just gives out light and heat, and while that is true on a basic level, the actual answer is much more complex than that.

You see,
The sun gives out what we call solar radiation, and solar radiation is divided into six elements:

•Visible light
•Ultraviolet light
•Infrared
•Radiowaves
•X-rays
•Gamma rays

Of all these, humans can only perceive three (visible light, infrared and ultraviolet light)
So how is this information relevant to our discussion?

Well,
Global warming is the heating up of the earth, and the only element of solar radiation that heats up the earth (at least significantly) is infrared.

The ozone layer does not protect against infrared, so logic (and science) dictates that its depletion would not affect the levels of infrared reaching the earth. Ergo, no effect on global warming whatsoever.

So if the ozone layer doesn’t protect us from infrared, what does it do? Why is it there?

The ozone layer shields the earth from one of the solar radiation elements – Ultraviolent radiation. And one thing you need to know is; if any one of the solar radiation elements hits the earth in too much of a quantity, we are royally screwed.

Too much infrared will burn up the earth,
Too much gamma radiation will cause mutations,
Too much visible light will blind us,
And many more…

So the ozone layer might not protect us from global warming, but it is still pretty damn important. It protects against ultraviolet radiation and living organisms safe from its dangerous effects.

Too much UV radiation causes a variety of problems in humans and animals including premature aging, sun damage, wrinkles, liver spots, a variety of eye problems, actinic peratosis, cancer and many more.

So we as humans should stop doing things that will deplete it for our own sakes.

Without the ozone layer, ultraviolet light becomes ultraVIOLENT light (hehehe… nailed it.)

Thank you for reading.

The propaganda machine wants to create a single enemy that we have to fight against. When pollution is a multifaceted problem.

I find it interesting that cities often suffer from excess of ozone while the planet has problems with ozone depletion. Neither of these problems are directly related to global warming.

There are many other environmental problems such as pollution from plastics. Microplastics are causing serious problems on the land and in the sea ... but they don't cause global warming.

There are many environmental issues that get ignored when the propaganda machine focuses exclusively on global warming.
