RE: REMOTE JOB OR WORK FULL TIME ? || MY PREFRENCE AND WHY

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

I do agree with your points but I as well think "remote" jobs are most times not so remote.

I think it's another 9-5 with a little package of free will.

A remote worker wants to ensure all tasks are complete, so he begins early in the morning, takes a break, probably see a movie or play some video games and then get back to work again.

Most especially the tech guys or folks who're into coding, we can practically say they work more than just the duration of 9-5.

I think some remote work as you have stated are depressing. You're alone in your room or workspace with plenty of thoughts and trying to manage to complete the task of the day. THAT can be depressing for someone who doesn't enjoy the company of himself.

More reason I would prefer a blend of the two.

I'm hoping to work remotely from Thursday to Saturday and then Monday to Wednesday get to visit the office, feel the presence of people, enjoy the atmosphere...

I believe a work plan like that can be created. I feel it's the best balance. To me, this is what I I'll enjoy most.

@starstrings01 thanks for sharing this wonderful piece, I will also create a post around this to share the observable differences between a 9-5 and a remote worker. Thanks for the inspiration 🚀

brother you get the whole point.. tech guys actually work more than 9 to 5 because they may not even finish the day's task within that time range and have to go extra hours all night to get the project done.

having a blend of going to work every day and staying home is just it actually. but I would love it if my house is not far from work since I don't like staying long hours on the road.

Yeah, that's absolutely cool, having your work area not too far from the home is the best feel.

Working close to the house is not really fun for me sha but it can surely do for some.

This is why I said working a remote job is a lot harder because you don't have a time to resume and a time to close, every time is a work time for a remote worker.

Although some people might be oblivious of the fact that remote jobs requires more time, they think is easier, I just laugh when I see these set of people, hehehe.

But what if you have no traffic barriers, would you still prefer to work from home?

Yeah for remote, every time is work hour.. but it is also interesting if the job you are doing remotely is something you are passionate about so it would not really feel like work, and burn out would not be that much.

Exactly, we only complain when we don't really have passion for what we do but for people like you and @olujay that have passion for what they do, they start asking for more hours added to the 24 hours that we already have, lolz.

See what I'm talking about, that's the spirit of a genuine remote worker. I'm really proud or should I Say happy for you 😊, God will help us to learn to manage the 24 hours 🥰🤲.

That's why remote jobs are better pick for me because I get to start working at any time and close at any time, it's not really because I wanted limited time to work that was why I choose remote jobs, it's because I want to get things done at anytime, especially, early.

Working with a company can reduce our performances because, they either wants us to close early or late which might not be so good but when you work on your own, you can easily continue until you are tired or until you have completed the job.

But like you have said, it can be boring most times, but I would love a walk at this point and maybe get some rest.
