Music Advent 2021 - Day 2 - Christmas Bells

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

Today's Nutcracker Storybook chapter reading is entitled "Marie".

Today's song is called Christmas Bells from 1919 and played on an Edison Diamond Disc player. This is the flipside, or the "R" side, from yesterday's song, Celestial Chimes, and was also recorded by the same artist, Robert Gayler.

An interesting thing about these Edison Diamond Discs is that they were meant to be stored vertically in a cabinet, so one side would face left and the other would face right. The left facing side of the record would be printed with an L and the side that was meant to be facing right with an R so, unlike more modern records which have an A side and a B side, these old records had an L side and an R side.

I hope you enjoy todays music.
