Scooby Noir
It's Halloween, one of my favourite times of the year, and I'm only now just beginning to decorate and enjoy it. October has been a difficult month in the household and now that I've gotten a little bit of time to breath, I felt that it'd be nice to engage in a few of my more enjoyable and simple hobbies: photographing toys. And what better toys to photograph in this dark, scary month than horror monsters and that fright-filled Scooby Doo gang?
I wanted to take a different approach to this group of photos, so I combined a doll house of horror (really) that I have with lego and came up with these. I was also looking to create a vintage 60's horror-noir look with dark shadows and muted colours; personally, I'm pleased with how these turned out.
That photo of Daphne being scared by the ghost and ghost dog was in the doll house's bathroom; the ghost is literally on a lego toilet. Now let the jokes begin!
I'm particularly fond of this photo of Fred, too. It looks like he's in a stage production and about to flee into the crowd.
And Velma. Well, Velma met the wicked witch who happens to be carrying with her a whip. Velma looks almost... pleased... by this.

Have not seen Scooby in years, so yes the title was what caught attention. Back to fun and games with Lego, nice fantasy to photograph and tell a tale on the go Victor.

Thanks @joanstewart! I love Scooby Doo. My son remarked just the other day, in fact, that if dogs could, in fact, talk, they would all be just like Scooby Doo.
Would be great if they could talk, well mine does just to let me know what he wants....
Thank you @ewkaw!
That’s so cool I love the eerie mood you have created
Thanks! I enjoy messing with "studio" lights, so to speak (they're really small dollar store lights that I hold in my hand)
I have a little area setup in the basement for studio style shots also with cheap lights but have seldom used it your posts like this will inspire me to try it out this winter
I would have got away with it if it wasn't for you meddling kids....
