Secret Beaches of Koh Lipe

There is a road leading from the tourist heart of Koh Lipe, Thailand ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ to the wooded western tip of the island. It first passes through a tiny village with shady gardens and cute pets:

Just one beautiful pooch was making noise there, no trouble with dogs.

And an adorable feline met us with the heart full of love:

Mangoes, cashew nuts and cashew apples, jackfruits, and mangoes again on the fruit tree images.

Then, the road climbs up the mountain, leaving gardens and cute pets behind, and turns into a pathway:

The further, the narrower.

The best time to finish ice coffee you bought in the Koh Lipe Town and indulge in adventures in the wild:

This was where we were heading to:

My custom Google map, check it out here

The three secluded beaches on the western tip of Ko Lipe - Pantai Galah Beach, Svedo Beach, and Koh Lipe Secret Beach.

I expected to find a couple of resorts on our way, I thought there would be some frugal bush thickets on dry rocks... And I was completely wrong. No resorts in the area and no fences, and there were not just only shrubs but real tropical forest, beautiful one.

Familiar to me from the state of Kerala, India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ, brahminy kites (Haliastur indus) were floating above the jungle:

Someone was trying to cheat us pretending to be part of the bark ๐Ÿ˜€ (this is a young monitor lizard if you didn't know):

Another reptile (unidentified), and a crab which we found surprisingly far from the sea running among the dry foliage.

At last, the way down to the sea.

And here we are.

This is Pantai Galah Beach, one of the three secluded beaches on the western tip of Koh Lipe:

Nobody at the beach, just us. Maybe, because it was April, not the high season? Or because it was at 8:30 am? ๐Ÿ˜

Swimming, sunbathing, or taking images? This time, my answer was photography. I was flying from one rock to another like an eagle with a telephoto lens instead of the beak. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

We found a tent in shrubs adjacent to the beach though there were no signs of life there. I guess the campers were those two guys who we met on the way. They were the only people we met during the whole walk.

You must climb rocks and boulders for a while to access the next bay called the Svedo Beach. Then, climb again to reach the Secret Beach of Koh Lipe.

It was delight and excitement, and joy that everything was going well: that the beaches met our expectations, that the sky wasn't overcast although it was whitish at the beginning of the walk, that the forest and its steep paths were beautiful, that the whole idea to visit Koh Lipe was fantastic... We also had pleasant a feeling that we were living the time which would be the best memories for the rest of our lives.

I took all the images in the post with a Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G and a Nikkor 24mm f/2.8D on a full-frame DSLR Nikon D750 on April 10, 2023 in Koh Lipe, Thailand.

Thank you for this inspiring praise! ๐Ÿ™‚

lizard

๐Ÿ™‚ Yes, they impress when you meet them for the first time. But then you'll know that there is no reason to be afraid of them. They don't mind having people around but they carefully keep a distance from us.
