Runicore... A Quick Review

So less than 8 days are left till the Runicore minting starts and I thought the time is best to do a quick Runi review, and just to build up on the excitement. Runicore is the Splinterlands very first generative NFT project, just like Crypto Punks, Bored Apes, and Mutant Ape etc. Being a generative NFT project means each Runi will be minted unique using random combination of six different visual attributes.

The coolest thing about Runicore is its dual aspect. The card have two side/aspects; Ethereum side(generative NFT ERC-1155) and Hive side(ingame usage).

Ｅｔｈｅｒｅｕｍ Ａｓｐｅｃｔ

The Runi card indeed possess some amazing stats but before digging into the gaming part of Rune, I am first gonna dive into generative NFT aspect/Ethereum side of it. With 1 Billion plus possible Trait combinations every Runi will be unique in itself. No one knows and predict what their Runi will look like.

There are only 6500 maximum Runicores to be minted each having unique trade combination and art work. To me the that's the most enticing part of the Runicore. Imagine the possibilities Runi offers e.g. showcasing art work, using it as profile pic, and trading it on OpenSea market place.

Ｈｉｖｅ/Ｉｎ-ｇａｍｅ Ａｓｐｅｃｔ

Now lets talk about Runi's Hive side/ingame stats. So Runi could be staked on Ethereum side into a smart contract, allowing it to be used into a specific hive account in-game.
Each specific Runi will maintain their special unique appearance when moved in-game. It would be cool to see different looking Runis appear in battlefield. The stats of all Runi are however gonna be same.

Costing 6 mana, Runi will be a neutral promo legendary. It will have 4 melee attack, 1 shield, 5 health and only 1 speed. There is also a cool combo of abilities that Runi possesses; Opportunity, Rebirth, True Strike and Reflective Shield. Plus Runi is gonna come pre-maxed.

Opportunity attack will make Runi a grave threat to all weak enemy monsters. True strike is gonna compensate for low speed, ensuring Runi never misses its mark. Reflective Shield will provide cushion against Blast and Thorns damage. And a new ability have also be been introduced with Runi called Rebirth. Rebirth will allow Runi to self resurrect once with 1 health.

Ｐｒｉｃｅ

Well 2000 Runi whitelist spot reserved for Splinterlands players got filled out in just 2 minutes. Each whitelisting required 100 vouchers. Whitelist spot holder are gonna mint Runi at a discounted rate of $250(payable in Eth) when the minting starts. Other than whitelist spots, 4500 remaining Runi could be minted at a fixed price of $500 per mint. Minting will remain open for 30 days and unminted Runis left will never be minted again. But the way whitelist got sold out in two minutes, I doubt that there where any Runi left unminted.
The real fun regarding Runi price will happen post minting 30 days, when it will start trading at OpenSea. No one can predict the price of Runi in secondary market, as each Runi will have its own unique appearance based upon trait configuration. The floor price of the collection, will hopefully be greater than mint price of $500. But there may be huge price variation across the Runis listed for sale. We never know a special looking Runi may gets sold for thousands of dollar or more.

Well, I was lucky enough to secure my place in Runi whitelist and now desperately waiting for minting it at discounted price of $250. I wish I could pull a gold foil Runi with most unique attributes. Btw, chances of pulling a gold foil are only 2%. I guess we are gonna soon find out. Wish me luck?
