Splinterlands: Innocuous Yet Dangerous DEATH ELEMENTAL

Time for the SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge.
This week's battle challenge is about the dangerous SERPENT OF THE FLAME. Too bad I didn't own this classic monster and I even fear facing it. So, I am gonna go with DEATH ELEMENTAL instead. DEATH ELEMENTAL is one of my favorite death monster that I frequently use due to its silence ability. Although it seems innocuous at first glance but it can have far reaching impact on outcome of the battle.
I own lev-5 DEATH ELEMENTAL which is sufficient for me as far as abilities are concerned. Although DEATH ELEMENTAL have low health but this weakness is complemented by its great speed.Also it costs just 3 mana, making it a perfect low cost Silence ability monster.
Currently there are 7,847 normal foil DEATH ELEMENTALs in circulation, costing 0.098$/BCX. Gold Foil DEATH ELEMENTALs are less abundant with 541 in supply and costs 2.08$/BCX.

Favored Battle Rules
DEATH ELEMENTAL can be used effectively in battles which support heavy magic attack e.g. Keep Your Distance & Broken Arrows.
Placement
Since DEATH ELEMENTAL, have low health so it needs to be placed in middle back ranks well protected from Snipe, Sneak and Blast damages.
How to Use
DEATH ELEMENTAL's silence ability can cripple enemy magic attack. Since it posses weak magic snipe attack so chances of Magic Reflects gets reduced.
DEATH ELEMENTAL can be complemented both by summoners and monsters.
- Using
DEATH ELEMENTALwith MIMOSA KNIGHTSHADE makes it immune to Magic Reflect damage due to Void abiliyu.
- Protecting
DEATH ELEMENTALwith shield using summoners likeDRAKE OF ARNAK, or Protect ability monsters can provide cushion against Opportunity attacks.
- Positive health attribute from Strengthen ability monsters is a nice ploy to help inherently weak
DEATH ELEMENTAL.
DEATH ELEMENTALhave high speed, so speed related attributes like Slow, Swiftness and Blind can make it even more difficult to target.
Defense
Since DEATH ELEMENTAL is inherently low on health so Opportunity attack is the best way to take it out. It can also be killed by placing Magic Reflect monster at Snipe position.
MY BATTLE USING DEATH ELEMENTAL

MY LINEUP
MIMOSA KNIGHTSHADE
Since it was a hogh mana battle so I decided to use my legendary summoner, MIMOSA KNIGHSHADE. KNIGHSHADE is especially suited for Keep Your Distance battle rule due to Void and -1 ranged attack buffs.
LORD ARIANTHUS
Up front I placed my tank, LORD ARIANTHUS. My all time favorite no attack. Perfect combo of awesome abilities Shield, Magic Reflect, Void and Thorns at just 5 mana cost.
PRISMATIC ENERGY
On one down position, I placed another Magic Reflect, PRISMATIC ENERGY. PRISMATIC ENERGY can be perfect for Keep Your Distance rule set, if mana cap allows it.
PHANTOM SOLDIER
Next, I placed PHANTOM SOLDIER. The real charm of PHANTOM SOLDIER lies in it's Silence ability. Decent attack with Flying, Silence and Void ability, can't ask for more.
FALLEN SPECTER
Next I placed a low cost legendary, FALLEN SPECTER. It can be pretty effective due to Headwinds and Demoralize ability. MIMOSA's Void ability makes it immune to Magic Reflect damage.
DEATH ELEMENTAL
Next I placed the star of our show, DEATH ELEMENTAL. With Keep Your Distance rule set, second silence can be quite helpful. Again Mimosa's void helps against Magic Reflect.
CORNEALUS
On the very last, came neutral legendary, CORNEALUS. Although out of healing due to Healed Out rule set, CORNEALUS can soak Sneak(Magic and Ranged) attacks due to its heavy health.
BATTLE ANALYSIS
This battle went as planned. MIMOSA KNIGHTSHADE proved to be nice summoner choice. Also the double Silence ability heavily crippled enemy magic attack. Also enemy relied totally on magic attack.
My Final Opinion About DEATH ELEMENTAL
DEATH ELEMENTAL can serve as a nice low mana Silence monster in low mana battles. It can even be used in High Mana battles. So it is definitely worth owning and using.

I don't know why I never liked this monster but it seems so helpful from your review.
It's a nice one.
Your lineup for the battle was awesome.
And I think you wanted to write "My Final Opinion About DEATH ELEMENTAL" where you actually wrote "My Final Opinion About CHAIN GOLEM" ... maybe a typo?
