14 Photos form the Jade Bight, Northern Germany

Last summer, a friend and I, who both live in Hesse, Germany made a one week trip to the Jade Bight. The Jade Bight is a bay in north western Germany in the North sea. We both love its stunning nature and the North Frisian charm of the area. In this post I wanna share a few of my best shots with you and give you a little background information with each of them. I really hope you enjoy!

A typical Frisian lighthouse we came across at sun set at our first day:

Here you can see the stone beach at the hotel we stayed in (there are also sand beaches) and the city at the horizon is Wilhelmshaven an important international trading junction!

Another view of the stone beach (the small lighthouse all the way back there is the one in the photo earlier):

The next photos are taken from a path over parts of land that a mostly flooded at high tide. Every low tide the water erodes some of the mud and forms interesting patterns.

Here's a photo of these patterns:

This is the main inflow and outflow stream and you can see the water slowly coming back from the sea!

A dog couldn't resist jumping off of the path onto the mud : )

This all gets flooded, so not many plants have time to grow here.

This small pond formed by a strong high tide!

The green meadows are perfect for many animals, so it's no surprise we came across plenty of cows and sheep, aren't they so adorable?

We even rescued this crab which was stranded and in danger of parching in the sun, so we brought it back to the sea and he happily burried himself right away : )

We also participated in a mudflat hikikng tour, a hike on the sea floor during low tide, but I didn't take my phone with me because I didn't wanted it to get wet : (

That's it once again with my travel summary post for today, I really hope you've enjoyed my photos!
See you soon!

These photos are great!
I just love animal photography, so sheep close out photography is the best for me.

Would you be so kind and let me know how are you connected with @ximlouiii?
It would be great to know more about you as your photos are really good and I am looking forward to see more...
