However, I don't concur with your logic of saving money by not fixing the phone. Imho, minimalism isn't about saving money or saving anything for that matter. It's about living with less and share the excess if you got, so saving anything is against minimalism. And that applies not only to material things but also to our mental space. Decluttering the mind of all thoughts is the ultimate achievement minimalism could lead to. To my understanding, when nothing remains in one's mind he/she attains a blissful state and then bliss radiates all around the world through them.

I had the wrong perspective on a minimalist lifestyle, I just wanted to save as much as I could but somehow I inconvenienced myself really badly.
