In Praise of Philips: our excellent experience with their Sonicare electric toothbrush & customer service!

It's not often that I write endorsing a product, but Philips have won me over with their professionalism & generosity.

Last year, for her birthday, my wife received a valuable gift: Sonicare's electric toothbrush, from her mother --- and she has been raving about it and trying to convert old-fashioned moi to go electric, since!

Recently, a minor tragedy struck... Even though the missus takes care of her whirring gadget as though it were a small child, the tooth-cleaning marvel began to malfunction, last week, with just one month left in her one-year warranty.

My wife is shy by nature and, given that we are busy preparing for a big trip, she did not think to reach out to customer service. Yet, knowing what this toothbrush means to her, I offered to give it a try.

And, I'm very glad that I did!

I reached out to Philips on social media and immediately heard back ... as in within a minute or two :o

This was an encouraging start, I thought; and, it only got better. Customer service asked me for specific information about my device, which included sending them a photograph and short video of my malfunctioning machine.

Within a matter of hours, they had graciously resolved the issue by offering me not only a new toothbrush head, but also an upgraded replacement unit, since our model is (temporarily) out of stock.

What's more, Philips offered to ship their Sonicare electric toothbrush with in a few days, so that we might have it before our trip. I could not ask for more!

I'm so pleased with this considerate interaction that I am, now, even thinking of taking the plunge and Going Electric myself. Here's a video that might convert you if, like me, you are on the fence about electric toothbrushes.
