@Tarazkp is a hero -- it's as simple as that!

Read, post below, and comment section to find out why :)

Thank you, @Tarazkp, for exemplifying how we should all be, on this platform and beyond. May you be helped, as selflessly and generously, as you help others!

I’m locked out of this account & can only post.

If you can help me, $1k is yours!

You can reach me @yahia-lababidi on Hive.

Thank you 😊

I don't want the reward - but I will try to help.

Firstly, have you got any of your keys still?
Have you ever updated your owner keys?

Unfortunately, you never reset your recovery account from Steem.

This is Hive.

However, if you have some of your keys, I think you will have to find the Hivewatchers discord server and talk to Guiltyparties - he might be able to help you.

Oh, you’re a good guy, @tarazkp!

I have my posting key, which is how I can write this, but if I try to move money from my wallet I get this:

img_5599.png

My computer crashed and I was foolish not to write down active key etc…

I’ve tried my Steem keys, repeatedly, but no luck — are you saying I should keep trying?

I’ve spoken to Guilty parties at length when this happened & despite their great patience, we were not able to resolve it :(

The problem that many seem to have is that despite the numerous warnings, they keep their keys on a computer, not printed out and safe. If you have already spoken to guilty parties and you really have no other keys available, it could be that there is nothing to be done.

@Tarazkp, sorry to bother, again.

I found Steemit master key, entered it and received this not discouraging reply:

This password or private key was entered incorrectly. There is probably a handwriting or data-entry error. Hint: A password or private key generated by Hive will never contain 0 (zero), O (capital o), I (capital i) and l (lower case L) characters.

I know this is unconventional, but I trust you, blindly, and have a favor to ask.

Can I send you, privately, my password to try and enter it for me. Also, would you please accept at least $500 to do with as you, please, if it works as this would mean a great deal to me 🙏🏽

Gratefully, Yahia

And this is Taraz again.
You will now have access to your account. I have changed your keys.

KEEP THEM SAFE and print them out - don't write them out, unless you are very careful!

I'm amazed at what you've done for me, @tarazkp, and still too bewildered to fully process it.

I will say that, shortly, before sharing this post I read a tweet that echoed an aphorism of mine about Miracles only revealing themselves to those who Believe...

I took this as a sign to try again with my lost Hive account and created this post, knowing full well that my chances were next to nil (having tried with techies on Hive and off, for nearly a year).

Then, for the first time I found that I was able to upvote or downvote using my posting key (which was saved on my iphone) and I felt like something had shifted, the giant implacable bolder gave a little and I felt like it was possible to have a breakthrough.

Then you made the remark about my Hive account not being recovered from Steemit (something none of the many folks who I reached out to mentioned).

As I tried my old Steemit password, again, having tried it innumerable times, it felt different somehow (even though I was not able to get through).

That you were willing to give it a shot and got through I consider to be a minor miracle and, forgive me for saying so, but I think you're an angel.

After the great high of recovering my account, I'm sorry to say that I dipped real low over a sticky and sickening family affair and now, frankly, emotionally depleted.

Still, I wanted to write you and let you know how profoundly grateful I am for your generosity of spirit. Thank you, for always being ready to help and giving, unstintingly and altruistically, of yourself and time and good luck, as it turns out :)

I remain indebted to you and will not forget this anytime, soon.

Big hug, Yahia

You're a truly noble soul, @Tarazkp and your magnanimous gesture has restored my faith in humanity. Indeed, I'm taking the little lady out for lunch, today :) I hope that you might accept as a teeny, tiny token of appreciation, a few book of mine?

If so, please, send me an email with your address and I'm happy to drop them off at the post after this long (Labor day) weekend!

Cheers, mate, it's an honor to know you _/|_
