Dear Friends,

I just received some exciting news from my new book publisher, Rowayat:

My new poetry collection, “Desert Songs”, is currently available for sale at Diwan Bookstores, in Egypt 🤗

Here’s a peek between the covers:

This is my first bilingual & photographic book —with Arabic translations by an esteemed Syrian poet & transporting images by a Moroccan photographer.

I will keep friends-outside-Egypt posted when “Desert Songs” will be available on Amazon, next month, internationally 🙏🏽✨

Meantime, a short, spiritual poem of mine I hope you enjoy:

There are no maps for the land
my mind's eye is fixed upon
Instead a trail of wrecked ships
mark this treacherous path

To guide me, a willful star
whose light dims if, briefly,
I happen to turn away—
and that glows brighter
when my heart's aflame.

Never heard about Rowayat before, this article made looki it up~

You said it was translated by a Syrian poet, but is the translation in #poem form? or just for meaning without considering how it sounds?

I wish more people talked about Arabic culture on Hive. Maybe I should post more about this topic myself.

Happy to introduce you to Rowayat :) In the beginning of July, they will be launching a new website, that might interest you.

I shared with you, on Twitter, Arabic translations of my poetry—which I hope you will appreciate.
