How I Feel About My University 😀😒

Hello guys, how are we doing? Are you on vacation or still in school? I first of all would like to say thank you to @abdul01 and the other leaders of this community for organizing this contest and making it open for us all to participate. I feel is going to be fun reading about what you guys have to say about your schools. We'll get to know the serious students and the not so serious students like some of us. 😅

I am in my final year of university and so after being in my school for more than 3 years, let's see if I have a lot to say about my school.

So, right after the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), we students of Ghana have the option to proceed to the university, college, among other forms of higher education. You can start applying even before you're done with your final examinations to get ahead of the crowd. Well that is, if you do well in your exams.

I did just that before my final exams and applied to a number of schools. I wanted to continue schooling in Kumasi, where I attended high school but that plan didn't manifest. Instead, I am now a student of the University of Development Studies, UDS Navrongo. The school is now an autonomous institution renamed to CK Tedam University of Technology And Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS). The name sounds weird every time I hear it.😂

My school was initially one of the four campuses of UDS and due to a number of reasons like slow development and what not, they pushed for autonomy. They can spin it how they want but we know they're just looking for a way to spend money too😂.

An example of one of the infrastructure on one of the other campuses

Well, the development part could be true cos if you see how developed the campus on Tamale is and compare to what we have here, you could shed tears. It's that bad. By now you guys know how I am feeling about my school. 🙂

What Motivated Me To Attend UDS-Navrongo

This one is not an easy one. Not sure how to answer this😅. What motivated me to attend my school?🤔

Well okay, it’s probably my mom advising me and encouraging me to do well and graduate with a good class so I can have wider options to do what I want to do. Cos honestly, I wasn’t convinced. My school wasn’t one of the of my choices but as you plan and the Alnighty plans, things didn’t go how I wanted and I found my way here.

No regrets though, it’s been a lovely journey.

The One Thing I Can’t Fault My School For

My school has a lot of reasons to dislike it but as we know, one cannot always get everything wrong.

It has to do with the teaching and learning. If you’re looking for a school that places so much importance on lectures, it’s probably my school. You can’t miss lectures in this school. The students, man were like senior high school students.

People go for preps everyday and would miss out on extracurricular activities just to study.

Will I Attend This School Again?

If I say outrightly no, that wouldn’t be completely honest. Yes too wouldn’t be very true.😅 I’m in a dilemma. 🤔

Considering this school is quite serious with academics, that might make me stick around more but aside that there’s, nothing here. The infrastructure is bad, there’s not much extracurricular activities and the weather of this town makes things 10x worse.

This place isn’t very comfortable .

After these, I’d have to answer no. I wouldn’t return to this school. Simply because the infrastructure isn’t the best.

As a biochemistry student, I need to use laboratories and equipment that are up to standard but that’s not the case here.😅

Well here you have my entry guys. I hope you like it.

Thank you.

Autonomous because development was slow but yet still there is no ongoing promising project to show that they are taking things serious 😏

Hmm bro, if you talk too they'll find a way to defend themselves. They have been fixing those roads with their mouth for the longest time.

It’s no surprise that this year your department recorded very few first years. The only reason people came was because it’s uds and now it’s gone. And these people are just treating us anyhow

That’s true you know. The numbers this year and last year are very bad. The name UDS is what drew a lot of us in

The university i studied in wasn't my first choice but my second choice. I have to talk myself into studying there because i never want to remain inthe same city all my life but at in the end, they have me admission and i have to take it. No one want to stay extra year at home.

No one really wants that extra year. It’s too stressful. I too didn’t want to study in the same city for a long time and luckily even the school I am currently isn’t the same town.

I wanted to come down her and oppose everything you've said about infrastructure until I got to this part😂.

The image of your school with a link is beautiful btw, would be ideal for a nice post regarding designs and architecture in the architecture community here on hive.
