My First Time - Paritae Contest

I didn't think I would be talking about this but here we are. I thought I had buried this deep in a locker somewhere but hey, hive comedy mic had other plans. Haha, where do I even begin? Here goes nothing...

I did not officially start expressing my feelings to the ladies till when I got to high school about 4-5 years ago. I usually bottled it in and just tried to keep it cool because your boy did not want to get bounced. I know now that being bounced is probably a rite of passage every guy has to go through hehe. Who agrees with me?

Immediately I landed in high school, I thought I would change that. I was given a class and after a few days when the class began to get acquinted with each another, I saw this girl. She was what we call here beauty and "form". We were classmates and fortunately we had already spoken on a few occasions. It was a crush at first sight. I don't want to reveal her name because my boys will come for me so let's just call her Eve .

So, Eve and I started speaking in class as our seating positions were close to each other. I am the shy type so naturally, I could not look at her directly for long periods. Stealing glances at her though, I became an expert. I know beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder but if you saw this girl, you might crush too.

Fast forward I started to develop feelings for Eve and as inexperienced as I was to the whole dating thing, I told one of my friends about it and he encouraged me. Of course, boys will always encourage you even when they know you don’t stand a chance. I’ve done same too so I guess it was karma.

He encouraged I express my feelings before I get in the friend zone. I thought about it and decided I was going to proceed. It was operation “Get Eve”. I was brainstorming on ways I was going to tell this girl only to come up with a dumb idea.

I could have said it with my mouth face to face even if it’ll make me faint but no, I decided to go for something that will leave proof and lead straight back to me. Have you guessed it already? I wrote a letter to Eve.

Some might say oh it’s fine and maybe it’s romantic and stuff but what happened later made it my worse idea ever . Had to stop talking in class for a while. That’s why they always advice not to date your classmates I guess.

I sat in my corner, came up with this juicy letter spewing all the bars only to chicken out last minute . Well maybe not entirely because I had help. My friend that advised I propose to Eve was supposed to help me with the letter. We planned during night studies that after preps that Friday, he’ll engage Eve so I swoop in and make my moves.

He had no problem agreeing to that because he had his own plans in his devilish head. Fears boys. I decided to go for a Friday cos you guessed it right, I’ll have 2 days to stay away from the class if I got bounced. My friend already planned to leave me hanging. He intentionally slept and you know you can never wake someone pretending to sleep.

That was how I lost my perfectly thought out plan. The proposal couldn’t be done and letters couldn’t be handed out. That should have been a sign but determined for a relationship with this hot babe, yahuzah said nooo, he won’t give up. It’s good to give up sometimes guys.

This nosy classmate of mine found the letter in my bag and read it. I was mad at him but it’s boys boys so I let it slide when he said he would hand deliver it to Eve. He did hand deliver but he foolishly did it while class was in session and everyone was in. She read it and her friends did too .

I already knew what was coming when I heard, “but at this day and age, who still writes letters. . .” That was when I just wished the trumpet would blow and rupture would come. Hmm

I don’t know how the letter went round the entire class cos I zoned out fast and before I realized, it was time to close. I didn’t even bother packing my bags. I run out and my friend did the packing for me.

You would think this guy would be one to console me but naa, he made fun of me too and said it was normal. I didn’t prep in my class for a week till after I faced Eve again and she told me she wasn’t interested. She took it easy on me and didn’t make it hurt more than it already did . My classmates haunted me with that experience till we completed. At a point, I was nicknamed by some of the words I used but let’s leave that cupboard closed.

I’m still teased anytime we chat in our class group on WhatsApp. Still feels someway but the moral I learnt is never to write a letter to a girl . Leave no proof guys.

I was very embarrassed for sometime in our class but when I joined in the fun and teased me too, I could sit in class. Wasn’t until a while I started saying hi to Eve again and when she tried becoming friends with me again, I didn’t really give her the time. I’m still hurt from that comment about writing letters in this day and age.

Here’s my story guys. This is one of the most embarrassing stories.
