Well yes, with the best attitude in the world my husband @edeyglezsosa and I signed up for another initiative to participate again in another volunteering. This time it took place on the outskirts of the city in a more rural area that borders a part full of industries. To take advantage of the event, my husband proposed a hike from our home to the volunteer site. At first I was reluctant because it was a bit far, but in the end I gave in because I really need some exercise and my husband was doing an Actifit Report.

The volunteering as such consisted of helping in the recovery of a section of a garden, which once recovered would be in charge of growing vegetables. These vegetables will be added to a donation project that focuses primarily on maternity and nursing homes. For those who don't know, maternity homes are facilities where pregnant women who are in danger of miscarriage are admitted. And nursing homes are homes for the homeless elderly or those who for one reason or another their family is unable to provide the care they need.

Anyway, when we arrived at the volunteer site they had already started, but we quickly joined them. Although a large part of the garden was already planted, there is still a lot to do before it can operate at 100%. But well, I am very happy with the initiative and I hope that many more of this kind will come up and that I will be able to participate in them.

Pues sí, con la mejor actitud del mundo mi esposo @edeyglezsosa y yo nos apuntamos en otra iniciativa para participar nuevamente en otro voluntariado. Esta vez se realizó en las afueras de la ciudad en una zona más rural que limita con una parte llena de industrias. Para aprovechar el evento, mi esposo me propuso hacer una caminata desde nuestra casa hasta el lugar del voluntariado. Al principio me mostré renuente pues estaba un poco lejos, pero al final cedí porque de verdad que ya me hace falta un poco de ejercicio y de paso mi esposo hacia un Actifit Report.

El voluntariado como tal consistía en ayudar en la recuperación de una sección de un huerto, que una vez recuperado se encargaría de cultivar vegetales y hortalizas. Estás verduras se sumarán a un proyecto de donación que se enfoca principalmente en hogares maternos y hogares de ancianos. Para los que no sepan, los hogares maternos son instalaciones en las cuales ingresan a mujeres embarazadas las cuales presentan peligro de aborto. Y los hogares de ancianos son casas de acogidas para ancianos sin hogar o aquellos que por un motivo u otro su familia no puede brindarle la atención que necesitan.

En fin, cuando llegamos al lugar del voluntariado ya habían comenzado, pero rápidamente nos incorporamos. A pesar de que gran parte del huerto ya se encontraba sembrado, queda mucho por hacer para que pueda operar al 100%. Pero bueno yo súper contenta con la iniciativa y espero que surjan muchas más de este tipo para participar en ellas.
