I FOUND COURAGE IN THE STORY OF JOB IN THE BIBLE __WEEK 305

(Edited)

There was a year my life felt like one long "why me".

Business flopped.
Money dried up.
People I called friends started acting brand new.

I remember sitting on my bed one night, bills here and there, phone off, and just crying.
Not the loud crying. The quiet one. The one where you’re tired of asking.

When life challenges you and hits you hard, where do you find the courage to stand back up and keep going?

For me, I found it in a bible story... The story of Job.

You know Job right?
The man who lost everything. His animals, his farm, his health.
Even his wife looked at him and said "Are you still holding on to your God? Curse Him and die."

Can you imagine? When you’re down, and the people closest to you mock you.

But Job didn’t quit.
He sat in the dust. He cried. He questioned.
But he didn’t let go.

That story became my anchor.

THE SURRENDER VERSE - Job 1:21
"I came from my mother's womb naked, and naked shall I return.
The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord."
That verse taught me that even when I don’t understand, I can still praise the lord and have faith...

** THIS IS THE COURAGE VERSE - Job 13:15**
"Though He slay me, yet will I put all my trust in Him (Faith)"
This one carried me on the days I wanted to give up. The days it feels like "no I'm done",
When everything was falling apart, this was the only thing I could hold....

THE RESTORATION VERSE - Job 42:10
"And the Lord God restored the fortunes of thee Job... and the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before."
And at the end, God didn’t just give Job back what he lost.
He gave him double of what he lost..

Because if Job could lose everything and still stand,
then maybe my own "everything falling apart" season wasn’t the end of me.

Courage for me stopped being about "being strong".
Courage became: wake up and try again today.
Courage became: apply for that job even after 20 rejections.
Courage became: cook, sell, pray, and believe that this dry season will pass.

Some days I’m still scared. Some days I still cry.
But I remind myself: Job’s story didn’t end in the ashes.
And mine won’t either.

To any person reading this who feels like giving up:
Your chapter 37 is not your last chapter.
Keep going. Even if it’s just one small step.
God sees. And He’s not done with you yet.

What story, verse, or person gives you courage when life gets hard?

Jobs story never gets old. I remember using it for the Teens class. Sometimes in life, experience teaches us to try again, again and again. Don't just give up. The morning might just be around the corner.

A great account of Job's faith but also of God's character and sovereignty. Contrast that with his three friends and the attitude of his wife is quite stark. And that made me wonder if she was the same woman that blessed Job with his new offspring, God can grant grace to a humbled wife. 🤔

Remain in his holy word @yalloveme
