Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Theme: Tips for Beginners!

Greetings, dear friends of Hive Blockchain! I hope you all are doing well and feeling healthy. I am also good and enjoying my life. It's Sunday 7th day of January 2024 here in Pakistan. Today I am again going to participate in the Splinterlands Social media challenge Theme: Tips for Beginners!. I am sharing this post as my entry for the Splinterlands Social media challenge. Theme: Tips for Beginners!:

This week's theme is Tips for the Beginners so in this post, I will share my Splinterlands experience as I have been playing Splinterlands for the last 5 years. My main focus will be on joining guilds and participating in brawls.

Introduction to Splinterlands::

Splinterlands is a Play-to-earn trading card game on top of Hive Blockchain where you can play, trade, and earn rewards. It is a free-to-play game but if you want to earn rewards you will need to buy some assets and a Starter called Spellbook. Buying a spellbook allows you to buy assets from the Splinterlands shop, and marketplace and earn rewards by playing battles. To earn rewards one must have cards to play battles and staked SPS. Playing battles with the starter cards reduces the rewards whenever you use a starter card in a battle. There are certain levels of earning in this game, if you want to earn good rewards you must have upgraded cards and enough staked SPS for the league in which you are playing. The highest number of staked SPS is needed for the Champion League where you will get many more rewards for winning battles and also in chests.

Getting Started:

If you want to start this game first of all you will be needed to create a Hive Blockchain account. If you have already a Hive Blockchain account you can sign in with those credentials. As Splinterlands is built and operates on top of the Hive blockchain to join Splinterlands first step is to create a Hive account. If you worry about how to create a Hive account don't worry because Splinterlands creates it for you but make sure to store your keys safely. You may already heard that Not Your Keys Not Your Assets. Once you create your account then you need to log in and buy a Spellbook that costs 10$. You can buy it using multiple currencies or you can also use a promo code if someone already bought it.

Strategy Tips for Beginners:

When you buy some summoners and cards and get familiar with the Elements, the card's attack, abilities, and battle rulesets you need to focus on selecting cards when entering battles. The positioning of cards matters a lot in this game even if you have very strong cards and you use them in the wrong places you can lose. You can also participate in Tournaments if you want and the rewards for winning are massive. You can learn more about Tournaments by clicking on its icon in the top left menu.

Join Guild:

If you are new to the game I would suggest you join the guild. You can see in the below screenshot, there are hundreds of guilds in Splinterlands participating in brawls. There are so many guilds that need active players so join it. There are so many benefits to joining a guild, you will get 10% off for buying items from the shop and also you will get 15% more RP share when you win a battle.
If you are joining a guild first check if they are participating in Brawls or not. If they are not taking part in the brawls I would suggest to not join that guild and go for the one that is actively participating in brawls.
Participating in brawls will get you Merits on which you can buy Gladius edition packs that you can open and get free soubound cards. Soulbound cards are those that you can only use in battles and birn them. You can not sell them or transfer to others.

Share Your Early Experience:

I have been playing Splinterlands since November 2018 so I have seen many ups and downs in Splinterlands. I faced many hurdles during this period and the one I remember is Collection Power which is now replaced with the Staked SPS. Most of the time I reached the league tier for which I did not have enough Collection power so to get that league reward, I rented gold foiled legendary cards because they have high CP. The rental market was very active in those days. Currently, the collection power is now replaced with the Staked SPS per league so I am playing in the Gold league and I have enough Staked SPS for it. My goal for the Staked SPS is 100k and I hope I will reach it soon.
