Banquet of Despair
Hello there!!
Inspired by the Christmas season, I decided to create a drawing centered around a gingerbread cookie, a classic Christmas treat. I haven't done anything inspired by Christmas these days, sooo I started.
However, beyond the festive theme, I wanted to convey some feelings in this.
The internal struggle of a person facing challenges and difficulties. Tension, desperation, anxiety, loss of control, the emotional weight that comes with facing oneself over and over and being consumed by one's own internal dilemmas. Seeing that each effort fades away with time.
Witnessing each effort fade away with time.😣😥 The relentless pursuit of happiness collides with the harsh reality, delving into the internal struggle and perhaps even self-destruction.
I wanted to use a somewhat green palette, however, what happened is that what I made is perhaps not even half of what I envisioned, I need to improve on that. I was creating a video for this drawing, but after encountering some setbacks and losing several parts due to electricity issues, I decided to stop recording finally.😒😓

I started this drawing with a splatter of colors, shaping it until I was satisfied with the position. It was mainly the outline, lacking almost any details, but it served as the base.
After having the base, I had to place some reference points to continue working, and with that, I could define the girl's figure a bit better.

I had to finish placing the missing elements, like the hand and the Royal icing that the cookies carry. Something I added to this cookie was the chocolate in the girl's hand, which she would have in her mouth.
This drawing lacked a bit of darkness, and I also made a subtle adjustment in the color tone. When I placed the hand, I made it complete with all the fingers, although that was going to change in the end. After having the base of the icing, I proceeded to make some drops visible, it has dripped a little.

Previously, it was a bit darker, so a bit of general illumination is better. I also improved the icing in some places since before it wasn't so defined. Additionally, I started working on the face, adding more colors to it and a bit more detail.
It was time to make some changes to the colors. I opted for more greenish tones as they align with what I wanted to convey. In addition to the colors, I made some small advances in the face, although not too much, but more focused on the expression of the girl, as before she looked somewhat sad, and that was not what I intended to portray. In fact, in the previous step, she still didn't have eyebrows.
To finish, I adjusted some colors, also completed the work on the face. Although in the previous steps, I had worked on that, not in-depth, just some features. I also detailed the hand and the background a bit more. After accentuating some highlights, everything was ready.

A wounded heart where there is much darkness, and shadows lurk, I see hands on arms and in the background, much menace. A worried look, with gloom. beautiful work!!!❤️
