Nose ring symbolizes someone's wealth. In some of Africa’s tribes, nose rings are a reflection of an individual’s wealth and were part of a rite of passage for teenagers. It was believed that the larger the nose rings, the wealthier and the more prominent an individual is.
By the numbers, the interpretation of the Book of Genesis’ story, the practice of a groom forking over his bride with a prized golden nose ring has been handed down since old times by the Berber and Beja tribes of Africa, and the Bedouin tribes of the Middle East, as well as Australian Aborigines.
