Bartender: Kami no Glass - Remake (2024) [ENG/ESP]
ENGLISH
Greetings @theanimerealm community, today I want to tell you about an anime that ended up being a surprise for me and that recently ended, I feel it was a pretty nice and entertaining story, this anime is Bartender: Kami no Glass.
Remake of the anime with the same name that was released in 2006, begins its first chapter on April 4, 2024, under the direction of Ryōichi Kuraya and Liber studio.
As for the plot…
Miwa Kurushima is a girl who works in the prestigious Hotel of her grandfather, she and her team are looking for a bartender to work in that place, since it is located in a room, a luxury bar that seeks to offer the best service to all who approach, but no candidate presented were the right one or was not the one they wanted, until one day, Kurushima meets Ryū Sasakura, a prestigious bartender who works in Eden Hall, a quiet bar located in the Ginza district of Tokyo.
Sasakura mixes cocktails and drinks in the best possible way, considered as a relief to the soul, so Kurushima does not hesitate to bring it to the bar of the Hotel where he works; however, for some strange reason, he refuses to do so. What is the reason behind this refusal? Will he continue to prepare what is known as the "Glass of God"?
Personal opinion…
Bartender really came as a surprise to me, because what could I expect from an anime that is all about serving drinks in a bar? And really, it explores much more than just presenting us with drinks. It is an anime that transmits freshness, as each episode progresses you get to visualize that the protagonist is not only dedicated to serve drinks, he tries to connect with who is behind the bar, implying that, on many occasions, it is better to find a way to put yourself in the shoe of the other than to judge him at first, it is to give a break to the other who is facing his own battles.
An anime with a very emotional, sentimental and deep background, clearly the main theme is to delight us with different and various drinks, however, it is accompanied by a narrative of personal and nostalgic reflection. From the first chapter he explains that he is a Bartender and is "a nice place to rest", which I like because it introduces you little by little to where the story wants to go in general, as it is precisely what the protagonist is showing us with his drinks.
Positive points…
It presents a calm and not at all complex narrative, everything comes to its point; it is a story that explores the human context, about daily life. I'm not the type of person who drinks alcohol or goes to bars, but I enjoyed every glass they prepared, explaining how it is prepared and the origin of it.
Negative points…
At times it may feel slow, plus it is not made for a general audience.
Score I give it…
9/10 Story │ 8/10 Animation │ 8/10 Sound │ 8/10 Character design │ 8/10 Overall.
Comparing a little the animation of 2006 with this new version, I prefer the new one, maybe because I like this style more, the other one, yes, it feels and is reflected in a more sober tone, but the design of the characters loses quality.
It is an anime that explores various themes such as loneliness, regret, forgiveness, among other extremely touching reflections that give a hopeful vision of the end of a day, where the difference is made by our attitude and understanding towards the other, finding a personal healing. You manage to connect with the characters, who have their style and personalities quite marked and fresh. And, in all this, which cocktail do you identify with?

I was also wondering what kind of plot it could have, but reading you, I understood that it goes beyond serving a drink, they explain it and also try to show what is behind the customer.
I hope never to fall in a bar for reasons of distress, if I go there it will be to have fun haha but I liked that it invites to empathize with those who are going through a bad time and looking for a place like this to rest 🙏
Saludos 🤗
I don't want to fall into a bar for depressive or angsty reasons either, but to celebrate or get together with friends. Greetings 🤗
what a striking anime because of the uncommon character used as the center of attraction, in many films and stories sonsecundaras because they help to listen to the protagonists in their vents etc, it is not at all a bad idea to hear possibly human conflicts of the most common but with the anime touch become attractive, I liked I liked the suggestion 😀
Saludos 😊
Yes, the truth is out of the conventional and at the same time touches on such common themes. Greetings 😊
Yes, this anime is not very common, not even the 2006 anime version had much impact, but this one really catches the attention with the drawing, being a good plot.
This is currently on my list though I'm not sure what to expect about it, but based on your rating and opinion, I'm kind of looking forward to watching it even more. :D
Espero puedas verlo pronto 😊
It's very good, fresh to watch, I don't expect an epic anime but emotional. I hope you can watch it soon 😊
Sometimes it's better to watch such genre as well... It's quite refreshing. :) Thanks.. ^^
