Greetings @needleworkmonday community, today I am joining the year-end challenge which, personally I will focus on options 1 and 3, which I am excited to share with you the reflections I have on them.
Share about all of your needlework accomplishments in 2023 (skills learned, projects completed, supplies gained, goals met etc.)
Reflecting on the objectives we’ve attained can be very motivating reminding us what we’re capable of.
Tell us something you want to learn or accomplish for the upcoming year. Talk about what inspired this goal and how you plan to achieve it.
To start, I did not do any sewing course, embroidery, or anything like it, I saw my mom doing her cross stitches, sewing shirts and other things, but to receive guidance as such, I have not received it. Although if it had caught my attention, I had even made some cushions in the form of cloud, cat and others, but only the pattern and take them out in fabric, my mother was the one who ended up sewing them, I felt that I was not good at it, that was not something capable of doing it, but, earlier this year I decided to make some dresses for my dog, plus they fixed the sewing machine, the more I was motivated; starting to sew some old jeans, in case I damaged them, there would be no problem and some bows.
However, as my dog died, I did not want to do anything, but until the graduation of a friend was approaching and I wanted to make her something as a gift; I always saw that she liked dinosaurs and wanted a stuffed animal of the same, so I looked for references on the internet and I started to work. At first it cost me, but little by little, watching tutorials and looking at other stuffed animals, I did it and, from there, I started making several stuffed animals, a paw patrol for my nephew, a mini totoro, without face, Mario Bros star and many more.
Then, I entered the world of embroidery, which I ended up loving, although, if I was impatient at the beginning, and to grab the rhythm, do not say, I wanted to continue embroidering many things. I even looked for the various techniques that are given and little by little I have been learning the name and how each one is done.
My nephew is coming and soon he will start classes and my sister asks me to make him an apron, I like that aaaahh I don't know anything about sewing, but I'm going to try. I got a few needle sticks in my finger in the process, since I still didn't dare to use the machine and I'm still not afraid of it. However, when I saw how it was coming out I felt more enthusiastic and even more, that I embroidered her name and the apron looked quite beautiful; it was not a clean seam, however, I loved that I dared to make it.
From there, I made many things, an embroidered blanket and pillow, even a baby shirt, all poorly made, but I did it. The dress I made for my other dog, which has been one of the last works I have done, really fills me with pride and I want to continue making much more, including clothes for me and others and, of course, to understand much more how each technique is in one of them, the right materials for the elaboration of each garment, among others.
Also, I hope that next year I can lose my fear of the sewing machine and work much faster, because, although I do it by hand, it would not hurt if the time in the elaboration of each thing is a shorter time. Also, to be able to sell my work and make people feel attracted to my skills. With this, I want to make clothes and leashes for pets, but, in turn, also make clothes for the owners and combine with them, not that they are similar, but rather that they have details that resemble each other, it would be very nice to see it fulfilled.
And with that, I bid farewell to this reflection on all that I have accomplished this year and what I wish for the next.

Saludos comunidad de @needlewrkmonday, hoy me uno al reto de fin año que, en lo personal me enfocaré en las opciones 1 y 3, lo cual me emociona poder compartirles las reflexiones que tengo sobre las mismas.
Comparta todos sus logros en costura en 2023 (habilidades aprendidas, proyectos completados, suministros adquiridos, objetivos cumplidos, etc.)
Reflexionar sobre los objetivos que hemos alcanzado puede resultar muy motivador y recordarnos de qué somos capaces.
Cuéntanos algo que quieras aprender o lograr para el próximo año.
Hable sobre lo que inspiró este objetivo y cómo planea lograrlo.
Para iniciar, no hice ningún curso de costura, bordado, ni nada que se le parezca, veía a mi mamá hacer desde pequeña sus puntos de cruz, coser camisas y otras cosas, pero de recibir una orientación como tal, no lo he recibido. Aunque si me había llamado la atención, incluso había hechos unos cojines en forma de nube, gato y otros, pero solo el patrón y sacarlos en tela, mi madre era los que los terminaba cosiendo, sentía que no era bueno en ello, que no era algo capaz de realizarlo, pero, a principios de este año me propuse a hacerle unos vestidos a mi perrita, además de que arreglaron la máquina de coser, más me motivé; empezando por coser unos jeans viejos, por si los dañaba, no habría problema y unos lacitos.
No obstante, como mi perrita murió, no desee hacer nada, sino hasta que se acercaba la graduación de una amiga y deseaba hacerle algo como regalo; siempre veía que le gustaba los dinosaurios y quería un peluche del mismo, por lo que busqué referencias en internet y puse marcha a la obra. Al principio si me costó, pero poco a poco, viendo tutoriales y fijándome de otros peluches, lo hice y, a partir de allí, comencé hacer varios peluches, un paw patrol para mi sobrino, un mini totoro, sin cara, estrellita de Mario Bros y muchos más.
Luego, me adentré al mundo del bordado, el cual me terminó encantando, aunque, si me impacientaba al inició, para ya al agarrarle el ritmo, no se digas, quería seguir bordando muchas cosas. Incluso, busqué las diversas técnicas que se dan el mismo y poco a poco he ido aprendiendo el nombre y el como se hace cada una.
Y en ello, mi sobrino viene y pronto comenzaría clases y mi hermana me pide que le haga un delantal, yo como que aaaahh no sé nada de costura, pero lo voy a intentar. Unos cuanto metidas de agujas en el dedo me llevé en el proceso, ya que con la máquina aun no me atrevía y todavía no le pierdo el miedo. No obstante, cuando voy viendo como va quedando me sentía más entusiasmada y más aún, que le bordé su nombre y en el delantal se veía bastante hermoso; no quedo con una costura limpia, sin embargo, amé haberme atrevido fabricarlo.
A partir de allí, hice muchas cosas, una manta y una almohada bordada, hasta una camisa de bebé, toda mal hecha, pero lo hice. El vestido que le hice a mi otra perrita, que ha sido uno de los últimos trabajos que he hecho, realmente me llena de orgullo y deseo seguir haciendo mucho más, incluso ropa para mi y otros y, por supuesto, comprender mucho más como son cada técnica en una de ellas, los materiales adecuados para la elaboración de cada prenda, entre otros.
Así mismo, deseo que el otro año pueda ya perderle el miedo a la máquina de coser y trabajar mucho más rápido, pues, aunque lo haga a mano, no vendría mal que el tiempo en la elaboración de cada cosa sea un tiempo más corto. También, lograr vender mis trabajos y que las personas se sientan atraídas por mis habilidades. Con ello, quiero hacer ropas y correas para mascotas, pero, a su vez, también hacerles prendas a los dueños y combinen con los mismos, no que sean parecidas, sino, más bien que tenga detalles que se asemejen, sería muy bonito verlo cumplido.
Y con esto final, me despido de esta reflexión acerca de todo lo que he logrado este año y lo que deseo para el otro.

Me encantó tu idea de que la mascota haga juego con su dueño (o viceversa, jaja). Sería curioso verlos andar juntos por las calles. Por otro lado, la formación técnica es importante, sobre todo por los atajos que te dan y las amistades que te llevas. Abrazos.

You remind me a lot of myself when it comes to sewing. I don’t feel I’m capable of sewing well and just rely on my mother to do it for me. I feel since I missed that childhood window for learning how to sew that it’s over for me. I know that’s not true but it seems that way at times.
Those stuffed animals you made are really cute. You really should be proud of yourself. Those other things you felt were poorly made, at least you weren’t afraid to try them and now you can improve as you do more.
