No me había percatado que este domingo era el día de las madres y, por ende, no podía faltar un dibujo para honrar a esa persona tan especial en la vida de cada uno de nosotros, y no solo para honrar aquellas mamás que tienen hijos, niet@s... Sino también aquellas que han hecho el rol de una mamá y se han convertido en una importante figura para uno. Este dibujo en especial, se lo dedico a mi mamá, aunque ella no está en condiciones para saber de qué se trata y todo ello, sigue siendo la persona más importante en mi vida; también es dedicado a mi hermana y a todas en mi familia y círculo cercano. Bendiciones a todas las mamis en la comunidad y espero les guste.
Como no tenía mucho tiempo para ponerme hacer algo muy detallado, tomé de referencia una imagen en Pinterest muy bonita, donde sale la mano de una mamá y su bebé con una flor, así que puse manos a la obra con el boceto, así también esto me ayudaría a practicar mi mayor debilidad: las manos y los pies, que, por lo general busco tapar en mis ilustraciones, pero esta vez quise a salir de mi zona de confort y siento que cuando dibujo la mano como tal no tengo problema, el inconveniente es cuando lo hago en el cuerpo y en posiciones que no ubico como son.
Continuando, ya al tener el boceto, decidí no hacer las líneas en limpio y pintar directamente, pintando por capa y en orden, así como cuando se pinta de forma tradicional.
Tras ello, procedí a darle las luces y sombras a la flor y así sucesivamente a las manos. En este punto me estaba agradando como se veía y bueno, al tener la imagen de referencia y es más fácil visualizar los detalles que siempre se me escapan.
Luego, cambié el color de fondo por un ocre-rosado pastel y, aquí de igual forma tomé dos imágenes de Pinterest y solo dibujé sus contornos, para hacerlas tipo sombra. Una en la zona superior izquierda, una mamá con un bebé y en la parte inferior derecha, una mamá con una niña; le di a filtro y desenfoqué ambas sombras y le bajé la opacidad, porque tampoco querían que fuesen como el centro de atención.
Después de eso, procedí a dibujar dos mariposas, una un poco más grande que la otra y en tono amarillo y, jugando con los modos de fusión de los pinceles y texturas, le di a estas mariposas un efecto como luminosidad.
Para ir finalizando, le añadí unas lucecitas por aquí y por allá, sobre todo en las zonas de las mariposas y en la flor, también uno pequeño degradados en las sombras de las figuras. Así mismo y es algo que tiendo hacer con mis ilustraciones, es agregarle una capa de textura como de papel, en este caso lo hice con dos texturas, las superpuse y con los ajustes en niveles y de opacidad, pareciera que fuese hecha de papel, la primera textura no me gustó, así que, la dejé con la textura de las siguiente a esa.
La imagen final, a la derecha, es la primera textura que le habia agregado.

I hadn't realized that this Sunday was Mother's Day, and therefore, I couldn't let the day pass without a drawing to honor that very special person in each of our lives, and not only to honor those mothers who have children, grandchildren... but also those who have taken on the role of a mother and have become an important figure in our lives. This drawing in particular is dedicated to my mother, although she's not in a position to know what it's about and all that, she continues to be the most important person in my life; it's also dedicated to my sister and all the mothers in my family and close circle. Blessings to all the mothers in the community, and I hope you like it.
Since I didn't have much time to work on something very detailed, I used a beautiful image from Pinterest as a reference. It shows a mother's hand and her baby holding a flower, so I got to work on the sketch. This also helped me practice my biggest weakness: hands and feet, which I usually try to cover up in my illustrations. But this time I wanted to step out of my comfort zone, and I feel that when I draw the hand itself, I have no problem. The difficulty arises when I draw it on the body and in positions I'm not familiar with.
Continuing, once I had the sketch, I decided not to clean up the lines and paint directly, painting layer by layer and in order, just like when painting traditionally.
After that, I proceeded to add highlights and shadows to the flower, and then to the hands. At this point, I was liking how it looked, and well, having the reference image made it easier to visualize the details that I always miss.
Then, I changed the background color to a pastel ochre-pink, and here too I took two images from Pinterest and only drew their outlines to create shadows. One in the upper left area, a mother with a baby, and in the lower right, a mother with a little girl; I applied a filter and blurred both shadows and lowered the opacity, because I didn't want them to be the center of attention.
After that, I proceeded to draw two butterflies, one slightly larger than the other and in a yellow tone, and, playing with the blending modes of the brushes and textures, I gave these butterflies a luminous effect.
To finish up, I added some little lights here and there, especially around the butterflies and the flower, and also a slight gradient in the shadows of the figures. Also, something I tend to do with my illustrations is add a paper-like texture layer. In this case, I used two textures, layering them and adjusting the levels and opacity to make it look like it was made of paper. I didn't like the first texture, so I left it with the texture of the second one.
The final image, on the right, is the first texture I had added.
