My introduction to the Hive community 👀

avatar
(Edited)

The demons in my head started an altercation recently. Fiercely debating, whether I should have an introductory post. The discourse finally settled on the decision of introducing at least some of myself as a "newbee" here in the Hive, rather than postponing. 🥳

What's the big deal about introducing yourself you may ask?

I will tell you!

Let me first say hello to all Hiveians. Regardless of which platform or frontend you reside in.

I salute you! 👋

Now to the issue at hand regarding my intro dilemma:

I've always hated the lights. Preventively defusing any situation that would compromise my stealth. Weaving my webs behind the scenes 🕸, in the gloomy corners of the virtual abyss, away from any prying eyes. Waiting patiently for the unwitting, to lure and devour their soul.

"Don't ever let them see you coming."
~John Milton (The devil's advocate)

Muahahaha! 😈

Just kidding!😁 I'm not THAT evil... 😇

On a more serious note:

I felt that getting presented through my activity and interactions would be a better route to take instead of a mere dull verbal introduction.
Furthermore, I come from a place torn by all kinds of war atrocities. A devastated country on the moon

Most people tend to have some preconceived cognitions. Courtesy of media's propaganda.
An issue I usually avoid, merely by omitting that fact until they get to know me.
Something I had to disclose upfront, In hopes of clarifying my deviation from a standard introduction.

While I'm not that young anymore (My late 30s) and have lived prewar mostly. Its profound impact is undeniable and life-altering.

Talking about my personal life without the sorrows is hard. Hence, avoiding such a morbid subject is a necessity.

Not that I will refrain from talking about it in future posts. But frankly, I don't feel an introductory post is the right place for death and harsh realities. I'd rather stick to life, its beauty, and its persistence for now.

THAT, in a nutshell, concludes the reasoning behind my introductory disinclination.

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

How I got here:

Since the beginnings of cryptocurrencies and the blockchain, I was an enthusiast.
Though I tried, I couldn't get involved in mining due to the intermittent and prolonged power outages.
So, I couldn't manage to become a crypto millionaire, not even a "thousandaire".

BtcWithdraw.jpg

A memory from 2016 👆. Talk about the cons of centralization. Pardon the pun!

Look at those prices! 😢

I heard about Steemit long ago, eagerly tried registering an account, but to no avail.
A few years later, about a week ago, I tried again and was successful.
Something didn't feel right over there, however. The general atmosphere seemed like zombie land.

Researched Hive, its unique and high-quality content. Got educated about the unfortunate historical story that had happened and the evolution of Hive.

Without packing any bags, I set my sail to Hive on that same day.

And here I am!

Glad to be part of this vibrant community. Hopefully will be around for a long time, adding value wherever I can.

Made a couple of mistakes already:

  1. Not having this introductory before my first post.
  2. Depleting my newbie's RC.

Thank you macchiata from OCD for the advice!

Thank you all for reading! 💯

Appreciate all the support and/or feedback. Any criticism, opinion, or advice is welcome!

Until next time! 🙋‍♂️

PS. Apologies if I don't respond quickly. Pretty limited with the RC. Had to wait 5 days so I can post those 600 words

Welcome to the Hive community @yaziris!
We sincerely hope you find everything you are looking for and have found a new home here.

Seven suggestions to consider:

  1. Guard your passwords carefully, and publish and do everything except Wallet with the Posting key
  2. Use your Active key only for wallet transactions, Keychain, Peaklock, Hivesigner, and Hivelock,
  3. The Owner key and the Master password are only used to reset compromised passwords,
  4. DO NOT lose your passwords; but copy and store them offline in a safe place,
  5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit, and be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
  6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once, and
  7. Do Not click on any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.

I found you because @brittandjosie and @jamerussell from @heyhaveyamet presented and promoted your publication to get more exposure and help you grow faster.

If you find yourself overwhelmed and need some guidance, or if you have any questions, there are informed Hiveans available who can help you; you can click to go to The Terminal in Discord here:

Have fun and happy Hiving!

Good. Learning is important process to survive in Hive. If you stop learning you will feel boring and eventually it may lead to quit Hive community. Learn and post regularly.

Welcome to HIVE you are here and I saw you join the terminal so I came by for a later welcome hahahha James is always faster !

Its interesting and great that you put your story into a blog and left it here on the blockchain, so welcome, welcome to the Hive movement and blockchain. Your first blog is up and on the chain, hope you feel relieved, and not afraid of what is coming your way in the comments.
We know it can be daunting and frightening because all is new.
If you want to read some history this is a blog https://peakd.com/hive-198524/@hivepeople/hive-for-noobs-hive-198524 about it.

But for now the new beginning, you will have fun blogging and vlogging I promise. But in the beginning it’s hard and all is new and maybe you need help. We have amazing people here and a help discord if you need it. I love blogging, and was a newcomer once aswell so i know the feeling. The biggest and best advice is always be carefull with all your passwords, Never give those up !! I speak from experience !

What always is a big help to your account is to try to build and expand it. Be a daily blogger. The best way is to comment / respond on other hivers and their posts, there are so many topics here, you will definitely find a place for your thoughts and brainwaves.

I use @Peakd to post to Hive but Ecency is also a possibility. It’s a website, mobile and desktop application that improves your experience on Hive. If you are interested for Android download : https://android.ecency.com, for iOS: https://ios.ecency.com, for desktop: https://desktop.ecency.com apps that helps you to connect, and that’s what we do here !
You can also earn to promote and boost your content. Again If you are interested https://ecency.com just some extra information in this early start of your journey here! Last hive.blog is an option too. They work well and let me know if you have difficulty.

There are a lot of communities to blog in, besides your own account. Go to the main page of your account and see which one you like and you want to subcribe to. It’s in the menu.

Good luck with with hive experience and I Will See you around and may you find here what you are looking for. Just remember that all good things come in good time and never giving up is THE key to the big succes on the Blockchain.

Also you could join the the Terminal discord. Or visit @heyhaveyamet for more new arrivals, newbies exposure in the beginning is very important, and you can always learn from others.
Let me know if this was helpfull or if you need more help, or better see you in Discord
the Terminal.
Here is the invite its free,

Good luck to you as the new arrival, may hive become your new life !

Thank you for all the warm welcoming! I'm pretty sure being here will be a thrill. Thank you for your comment and your help! I wasn't able to reply due to RC limits.
Already jumped in discord, yeah, still reading and learning few things. But again, thank you! You've been a great help!

Everyone on the blockchain is given a certain amount of "RESOURCE CREDITS" (RC) that can be "spent" in publishing posts, writing comments, and so forth. Everything we do requires a few RC to accomplish, similar to "mana" or "gas" on other blockchains. We are given RC depending on how much HIVE POWER (HP) we have staked. If you don't have much HP, you will use all of your RC quickly. RC recharges at a rate of 20% each day.

You have been given a temporary delegation of Hive Power (HP), courtesy of @theterminal's RC-assist project. All we ask is that you:
• do not plagiarize
• remain active
• PowerUp rewards to grow your account

The best of luck to you on Hive!

Figured as much. Heck, I couldn't even publish the original intro I've written (~1800 words) Had to make do with 500'ish words, so I deleted most of it. Thank you so much for the delegation, I really appreciate it!
