My Hive Journey So Far + Advice For Newbies

It has only been three months since I returned to Hive, and while many people might think I do not qualify to share tips for newbies because technically, I am one myself, I believe I am still in the right position to do so.
These past months have come with lessons of hard work, grit, and the gradual progress that comes as a result of these actions. At first, I was worried about coming back to Hive and my mind was often filled with questions like,
“What if this does not work out?”
OR
“What if I experience burn out while trying to keep up with posting?”
Sometimes I even asked myself,
“What if I do not feel welcome on Hive?”
OR
“What if my posts are not good enough to attract an audience?”
I had no answers to any of these questions. However, I knew I could find out by deciding to just start and I did. Now, I have realized that the reason I am still here is simply because I chose to start all over. I faced impostor syndrome head-on and created this account.
It hasn't been entirely rosy for me, although I can admit that my experience has been better than I expected. In my first month, which was November, I made sure to join communities with weekly writing prompts I could relate to that would inspire my writings. These included The Inkwell, Ladies of Hive, and the Hive Students' communities.
I also joined Discord groups like @theterminal and @ecency, which I absolutely would recommend to any newbie. My earliest support came from these spaces, and every question I asked was met with care and guidance. That alone made me feel welcome.
With time, I became more consistent with posting, engaging with new people everyday, and joining more communities like India United. I also became active in the Neoxian City Discord, which significantly aided my growth. Participating in Discord events like PYPT also helped me connect with more people and introduced me to writing challenges I now enjoy every other week.

Today makes it a little over three months since I opened this account, and so far, so good! When I look at my account now, the growth feels rewarding. My writing has improved, and I am grateful for the people I have met along the way, even as I continue working toward my hive goals.
If you are still reading this, then my advice already sits clear. As a newbie, you must understand that growing on hive requires time, effort, and consistency. So, you have to be determined to thrive regardless of how little your progress seems.
I'l also mention that Starting is the first ingredient of any great dream. Join supportive communities that are on-chain. Take time to read posts and leave thoughtful comments, as this is one of the easiest ways to build connections and attract readers to your blog. Join active discord communities, ask questions whenever you feel confused, and participate in contests you enjoy, as they improve your visibility on the blockchain.
Most importantly, let go of the mindset of rapid growth. Hive is not a get-rich-quick scheme. Focus on building your account over the next three months, and you will see results. Remember, slow progress is still progress. I am rooting for you.❤️
