English Version

Cleaning our home is the first action we take to avoid the presence of bacteria, parasites and viruses that can make us sick, motivated by the accumulation of any type of dirt. We are instilling this action in our children from a young age, so that they learn to eat in a clean place, to pick up their toys, to make their bed, take care of their clothes, take out the garbage, etc.

My children are all teenagers and there are many things we do sharing housework, they have learned and like to live in a pleasant place. Each one has their own room and takes care of their own things, I don't get involved in that matter, it's a responsibility that I no longer have to attend to, and that happened as they reached the high school stage.

Actually, my children do support me in the housework, I am making this post about those things that they overlook because they see things as clean, but in reality they are not, they think I am exaggerated and that I really You don't have to spend so much of your life on it, but the truth is that they are important things that I take very seriously because they mean the health of my home and the well-being of everyone.

Six things my kids think clean themselves up

1.- The Brush to wash the Poceta and its Container

Although I have managed to make my children take turns washing the bathroom and that it is kept very clean, I have sanitized, this tool or utensil to wash it is constantly forgotten. They think that this cleans itself and I am the one who is constantly waiting to wash it and even take it out to sunbathe on the patio, even on weekends.

The main cleaning of the brush is given by the products we use to clean the sink, and ensure that it looks clean and smells good. However, this brush being in its container, is throwing or draining water, products and some other organic matter. Despite the fact that I complain about this, I prefer to do it myself because I think that they are not going to have the corresponding care and I am afraid that they will become contaminated, but it is something that they must learn because when they live alone they must prevent diseases due to the contamination of household items. .

2.- The Shower Curtain

I don't have a set day as such, but once a week I like to take down the shower curtain my kids use and just throw it in the washing machine. I used to wash it with a brush on the patio, but then I bought a waterproof fabric one that washes perfectly in the washing machine. This is very necessary since when you are in the shower, the curtain always receives bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, masks, any product used during the bath will be impregnated in the curtain and added to the water or steam. When hot, a slimy film forms on the curtain, which makes the bathroom smell strange, like all those products together, and it can also eventually stain and change its color. This is more noticeable since after washing it the bathroom feels different, it smells delicious, it smells fresh.

3.- The Fridge

The fridge is the place where we keep our food, and although it is hard to believe in it, many bacteria and germs also live, precisely because there are perishable foods waiting to be used.

Be aware of taking out the containers with the little or leftover food that they save for later and even forget about them, the containers with face mask experiments and that they forget about them, the glass of milk that they saved and they forget Of that, the vegetables that are no longer optimal and that have to be thrown away, and The Colmo: the pot that they keep in the fridge so as not to wash it...

Well, yes, the refrigerator does not have a cleaning day because you have to be cleaning it daily, seeing at all times what to clean, what to take out, what to move forward, that it spilled and it seems that nobody saw it, etc, etc, etc. ..

4.- The Kitchen Extractor Hood

Everyone uses it so that the heat and odors do not dissipate throughout the house, it has a very necessary and useful function, especially when the house is relatively small like mine. However, this is one of those devices that not having it would make my life easier, because cleaning must be continuous and it is also annoying because of its height; and for some unknown reason nobody sees her dirty, only me. The truth is that she gets dirty every day because the textures, fats and even the color of the food that is cooked rises in the form of steam and stays there dulling the material and if you are not careful it even forms a film of fat.

The easiest thing in the world is to see it as if it were another kitchen counter, that is, as you clean the kitchen counters, you also have to wipe with a cloth to clean with a degreasing product, it's that quick and simple... But no one sees it, only I see it..!

5.- The Trash Basket

Yes, everyone takes out the garbage on the corresponding day and puts the bag... How cute, really... But nobody is aware that before putting the plastic bag in the garbage can, you have to wash it with water and soap, even if they do not see it dirty, is something that should be customary since this prevents the proliferation of odors and we make sure that there is no food or dust left over, it is a matter of total hygiene.
But when I ask if they did, they always say yes, but I know they didn't...

6.- The washing machine must also be washed

I haven't washed my children's clothes for years, since they were in high school they have been taking care of their clothes and each one has their own basket in their room and they take care of separating and washing their clothes, and the whole issue from their closets. The Problem is that Nobody Washes the Washing Machine and it turns out that this team needs to remove the filters where the lint is trapped, you also have to put a short cycle with water and a combination of vinegar and baking soda to clean everything the tub The edges must also be wiped with a cloth to keep it clean and free of bad odors caused by the continuous use of soap.

And don't get me wrong, my children collaborate a lot in the house, they really are highly collaborative, but if I occupy them a lot with these details they don't pay much attention to me, since they are always busy with their activities, and then they take a aptitude like the one in this picture:

Fuente: Imagen Gratis de Freepik.es

So, what I do is take care of these details myself, accept the collaboration that they do give, because really they are aware of many things, but since it seems that they have "Selective Vision" and they don't see these things, well I take care of it me, and eventually them, but mostly me.

The cleanliness of my home is important, but so is harmony, and I cannot be repeating and tormenting myself all day, they have progressively increased the number of things they do and their responsibility increases every day.

I wish this post was interesting for you. Do you think I missed any? Write it in the comments. I really was left with a few more things to list, but I'm sure I'll do a second part of this topic.

I will continue to fight for the cleanliness of my home, because it is a way of giving love to the people I love the most in this world, who are my family.
