Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes las imagénes de un monumento icónico del municipio Cedeño en el estado Bolívar Venezuela; se trata del monumento de ¨la coroba¨ fruto autóctono del mencionado municipio, y que constituye parte fundamental de su historia, cultura, artesanía y gastronomía.
Caicara del Orinoco, es un pequeño pueblo ubicado a orillas del río Orinoco en el estado Bolivar, su nombre es de origen indígena ¨kaikara¨, quë significa: ¨la niña del sol¨

Today I want to share with you the images of an iconic monument of the Cedeño municipality in the state of Bolivar Venezuela; it is the monument of ¨la coroba¨ native fruit of the mentioned municipality, and that constitutes a fundamental part of its history, culture, crafts and gastronomy.
Caicara del Orinoco, is a small town located on the banks of the Orinoco River in the state of Bolivar, its name is of indigenous origin ¨kaikara¨, which means: ¨the girl of the sun¨.
La coroba está ligada a la identidad de los habitantes del municipio, es más allí tienen un dicho: el que prueba la coroba, se queda en Caicara; así, que, si tienen la oportunidad de visitar este municipio y quieren regresar, disfruten de su paisaje y su gastronomía, pero no prueben la coroba! jajaja
The coroba is linked to the identity of the inhabitants of the municipality, moreover, there is a saying: whoever tastes coroba, stays in Caicara; so, if you have the opportunity to visit this municipality and want to return, enjoy its landscape and its gastronomy, but do not try the coroba! hahaha
Esta coroba gigante, se encuentra a orillas del río, y fué creada en honor a nuestro insigne fruto , lo que la ha convertido en una parada obligatoria de nuestros visitantes, ofreciendo una hermosa vista y un ambiente fresco por estar cerca del río, además tiene bancos cercanos, ubicados por toda la orilla del río, lo cual le permite al visitante después de fotografiarse en el monumento, sentarse a descansar y respirar aire fresco.
La base donde esta puesta la coroba es de cemento, adornada totalmente con piedras tomadas de la orilla del río, para hacerlo aún más representativo del municipio, y el cuerpo de la coroba es de láminas de hierro, mineral abundante en el estado Bolivar.
This giant coroba is located on the banks of the river, and was created in honor of our famous fruit, which has become an obligatory stop for our visitors, offering a beautiful view and a cool environment to be near the river, also has benches nearby, located along the river bank, which allows the visitor after photographing at the monument, sit down to rest and breathe fresh air.
The base where the coroba is placed is made of cement, decorated entirely with stones taken from the river bank, to make it even more representative of the municipality, and the body of the coroba is made of sheets of iron, an abundant mineral that is used in the construction of the monument.
Este maravilloso fruto, es base para una deliciosa variedad de platos, que representan la esencia de nuestro pueblo, entre los cuales se encuentran: la natilla, arepas, aceites, y además los visitantes pueden traer como recuerdo llaveros o zarcillos hechos de semillas de coroba.
This wonderful fruit is the base for a delicious variety of dishes that represent the essence of our people, among which are: custard, arepas, oils, and visitors can also bring as a souvenir key chains or tendrils made of coroba seeds.
