Una actividad educativa que pretende ensalzar nuestro gentilicio.
El pasado viernes celebramos en la institución educativa donde trabajo una actividad la cual lleva por nombre:"" exaltando nuestro gentilicio"; la idea es dar a conocer a los estudiantes las costumbres y tradiciones propias de nuestra región, además de conocer y admirar la artesanía y gastronomía basada en los frutos típicos de la localidad, específicamente el municipio General Manuel Cedeño en Caicara del Orinoco Estado Bolívar; la actividad estuvo representada por los docentes y estudiantes de tercer año de dicha institución, nos organizamos por secciones y asignamos a cada uno un tema diferente; algunos les tocó la gastronomía, a otros la artesanía y a otros lo referente a los mitos y leyendas de nuestro municipio, que por cierto son muchos.
El día de la actividad se hizo una pequeña decoración donde los protagonistas fueron los estudiantes y los docentes, se dispusieron unos meses, se hizo una pancarta que llevaba el nombre de la actividad y se le hizo la invitación a las autoridades escolares del municipio para que asistieran a dicha actividad.
Last Friday, we held an event at the school where I work called “Celebrating Our Local Identity”; The idea is to introduce students to the customs and traditions of our region, as well as to learn about and appreciate the crafts and cuisine based on the local produce, specifically from the municipality of General Manuel Cedeño in Caicara del Orinoco, Bolívar State. The event was organized by the teachers and third-year students of the school; we divided into groups and assigned each one a different topic; some were assigned gastronomy, others crafts, and others the myths and legends of our municipality, of which there are, by the way, many.
On the day of the event, we set up a small display where the students and teachers took center stage; we arranged some decorations, made a banner bearing the name of the event, and invited the municipal school authorities to attend.
La actividad inició a las 8:30 de la mañana al compás de la música llanera, unod estudiantes de 3er año, sección C, bailaron al son del arpa; seguidamente se dieron las palabras de bienvenida por parte de la coordinadora de la seccional de tercer año, donde se le dio la calurosa bienvenida a las autoridades escolares, personal directivo, administrativo, docente, obrero y estudiantes en general.
Seguidamente se declaró iniciada la actividad donde los presentes podían hacer un recorrido en las distintas áreas; en una estaba ubicada la parte de la gastronomía donde el representante fue la coroba nuestro fruto típico, los estudiantes llevaron preparaciones a base de este fruto; entre ellos se encontraba el aceite de coroba, la natilla, la tradicionales arepas de coroba y una de las preparaciones más innovadoras y recientes cómo lo es el ponche de Coroba .
Luego estaba la mesa de las artesanías donde se podían observar llaveros, cadenas, pulseras, elaborados a base principalmente del mismo fruto, que es una riqueza en nuestro municipio y, por último estaba la mesa de los mitos y leyendas donde los alumnos elaboraron pequeños libros con materiales de provecho narrando los mitos y leyendas de nuestro municipio, dentro de ellos destaca la leyenda de la Cueva de Amalivaca.
A la hora de finalizar la actividad se repartieron las bebidas y comida elaborada a base de coroba iniciando por la representación de las autoridades escolares del municipio, seguidamente se extendió hacia los alumnos que allí estaban presentes; por supuesto a ellos no se les dio el ponche Jaja, fue una actividad muy hermosa y emotivo que como cedeñenses nos llena de gran orgullo el pertenecer a este hermoso Municipio del Estado Bolívar en nuestro país Venezuela.

The activity then officially began, and attendees were invited to tour the different areas. One of these was the gastronomy section, where the featured product was the coroba, our typical fruit. The students brought dishes made with this fruit, including coroba oil, custard, traditional coroba arepas, and one of the most innovative and recent creations: coroba punch.
Then there was the crafts table where you could see keychains, necklaces, and bracelets, all made primarily from the same fruit, a treasure of our municipality. Finally, there was the table of myths and legends where the students created small books using recycled materials, narrating the myths and legends of our municipality. Among them, the legend of the Amalivaca Cave stood out.
At the end of the activity, drinks and food made with coroba fruit were distributed, starting with the representatives of the municipal school authorities, and then extending to the students present. Of course, they didn't get the punch, haha. It was a very beautiful and moving activity, and as residents of Cedeña, we are filled with great pride in belonging to this beautiful municipality in Bolívar State, Venezuela.
