| I know that pigeons cannot be fed. Or rather, it doesn't sound like that. In some European cities, pigeons cannot be fed, they are fined for this, so as not to attract these feathered pests. Why pests? Because huge flocks of these birds are able to destroy historical monuments with their droppings, because pigeons really like monuments and historical buildings with their many architectural accessories, on which it is so convenient to sit. In Ukraine, it has not yet come to this, at least until the war in the center of Lviv, no one paid attention to it. I don't know what the situation is now, but I doubt that anything has changed, because the risk that our monuments will be destroyed by Russian missiles and bombs is still much higher. | Я знаю, що голубів годувати не можна. Точніше, це звучить не так. В деяких містах Європи голубів годувати не можна, за це штрафують, щоб не приваблювати цих пернатих шкідників. Чому шкідників? Бо величезні зграї цих птахів здатні знищити історичні пам'ятки своїм послідом, адже голуби жуже полюбляють пам'ятники та історичні будівлі з їхніми численними архітектурними прибамбасами, на яких так зручно сидіти. В Україні до цього ще не дійшли, принаймні до війни в центрі Львова ніхто на це не звертав увагу. Яка ситуація зараз я не знаю, але я сумніваюся, що щось змінилося, адже ризик того, що наші пам'ятники будуть знищені російськими ракетами та бомбами поки що набагато вищий. |

| But when I was lying in the hospital at the end of winter, a pigeon flew to the windowsill of our ward. My friends and I started feeding him, someone gave him bread, and I broke into pieces a saltine cracker that my wife had bought for me. The thing is that I can't eat salty now, and my wife didn't pay attention that the cookies are salty. The pigeon ate everything to bits, and the next day he returned with his friends, who also got their share of the deliciousness 😊. | Але коли я лежав в лікарні наприкінці зими, на підвіконня нашої палати прилітав голуб. Ми з товаришами почали його підгодовувати, хтось давав хліб, а я поламав на шматочки солоний крекер, який купила мені дружина. Річ в тім, що мені не можна соленого їсти зараз, а дружина не звернула увагу, що печиво солене. Голуб з'їв все до крихти, а наступного дня він повернувся разом з друзями, які також отримали свою порцію смачненького 😊. |
