Sea Stalker - Splinterlands Art Contest 254

¡Saludos queridos, amigos y querida comunidad!

Hoy quiero presentarles mi entrada al concurso de esta semana de Splinterlands, muy feliz de participar nuevamente, esta vez he traído un personaje que siempre me intriga y causa fascinación, aunque extrañamente siempre son muy famosas y vistosas las sirenas, hay algo de las cecaelias a mí me atraen mucho, estas criaturas de tentáculos en lugar de piernas, si las sirenas ya tienen mala reputación estas la tienen en mayor medida, la carta que he escogido esta semana y que retrata una Cecaelia se llama Sea Stalker les mostraré un poco del proceso de creación espero que sea de su agrado.

Today I want to present my entry to this week's Splinterlands contest, very happy to participate again, this time I have brought a character that always intrigues me and causes fascination, although strangely they are always very famous and showy mermaids, there are something of the cecaelias I am very attracted to them, these creatures with tentacles instead of legs, if the mermaids already have a bad reputation these have it to a greater extent, the card that I have chosen this week and that portrays a Cecaelia is called Sea Stalker I will show you a little of the creation process I hope you like it.

Esta criatura según la biografía de carta son seres muy hábiles, que acechan en las profundidades del mar y se esconden en los naufragio y en las cuevas de rocas cercanas, poseen gran puntería con su arco y difícilmente son alcanzadas por un arma humana... despues de este pequeño preámbulo ahora les comentó como comencé este dibujo, esta vez me guié únicamente de la carta para hacer el boceto, tratando de hacerlo un poco mas realista, una vez tuve mi dibujo lineal comencé a colorear la base del dibujo con tonos planos.

This creature according to the letter biography are very skilled beings, they lurk in the depths of the sea and hide in the shipwrecks and nearby rock caves, they have great aim with their bow and are hardly reached by a human weapon .... after this little preamble now I tell you how I started this drawing, this time I was guided only by the chart to make the sketch, trying to make it a little more realistic, once I had my line drawing I began to color the base of the drawing with flat tones.

Tambien leí que esta especie se puede camuflar cambiando el color de su piel, así que use un tono de piel pálido para la parte superior y tonos azules para sus tentáculos; proseguí entonces a colocar las luces y sombras en la parte superior, ubicando en primer lugar en grandes rasgos las zonas más oscuras y luces.

I also read that this species can be camouflaged by changing the color of its skin, so I used a pale skin tone for the upper part and blue tones for its tentacles; I then proceeded to place the lights and shadows on the upper part, placing first the darker areas and lights in broad strokes.

Luego usando mi pincel favorito de mezcla con textura de cerdas comencé a difuminar los tonos hasta conseguir una textura suave y crear los volúmenes del cuerpo de la protagonista, seguidamente proseguí con el resto del cuerpo, esta vez he usado un aerógrafo para hacer algunas transiciones más marcadas en los tonos para comenzar a definir cada uno de las ventosas de sus tentáculos y por supuesto generar los volúmenes de cada uno.

Then using my favorite blending brush with bristle texture I started to blur the tones until I got a soft texture and created the volumes of the main character's body, then I continued with the rest of the body, this time I used an airbrush to make some more marked transitions in the tones to start defining each of the suction cups of her tentacles and of course generate the volumes of each one.

Una vez definí los tentaculos, hice algunos brillos para apoyar la textura de los mismos, a pesar de estar bastante adelantada, en este punto tuve un revés pues no me sentía conforme con el rostro asi que lo eliminé completamente para volver a pintar.

Once I defined the tentacles, I made some shines to support the texture of them, despite being quite advanced, at this point I had a setback because I was not happy with the face so I eliminated it completely to paint again.

Algunas horas de trabajo más tarde

Comencé nuevamente a colorear el nuevo rostro y los detalles de su armadura y perdí la noción del tiempo y olvidé tomar más capturas del proceso, pero les cuento que una de las cosas que me causaban conflicto era el detalle metálico sobre su cabeza, así que lo cambié por algo mas femenino y marino, una corona hecha con conchas, algunas perlas y estrellas, coloqué estos detalles también en su cinturón y me ha gustado mucho el resultado.

Some hours of work later.

I started again to color the new face and the details of her armor and I lost track of time and forgot to take more pictures of the process, but I tell you that one of the things that caused me conflict was the metallic detail on her head, so I changed it for something more feminine and marine, a crown made with shells, some pearls and stars, I put these details also on her belt and I really like the result.

Por último como oscurecí un poco el fondo y dibujé algunas en algunas zonas y también dibujé algas al fondo y delante de ella, en diferentes tonos dependiendo la distancia de las misma, este ha sido el resultado final de la acechadora marina, me encanto esta carta y el resultado, espero que también a ustedes!

Finally as I darkened a little the background and drew some in some areas and also drew seaweed in the background and in front of it, in different tones depending on the distance of the same, this has been the final result of the sea stalker, I loved this card and the result, I hope you do too!
