Today I share with you my interpretation with the trumpet "C'est si bon", a Jazz Swing composed by Henri Betti, André Hornez, Jerry Seelen and popularized by the great trumpeter Louis Armstrong. The melody is charming with an up and down movement that creates a feeling of joy and optimism. The rhythm is constant and danceable, with a moderate tempo. This piece of music is originally written in French and was written and recorded in the post-war context. Something I love about this piece is the use of scat singing as an improvised vocal technique and growling, an effect that can be done with both instruments and voice. I have had the opportunity to listen to covers by Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra and Chet Baker. It is a piece that transmits indescribable joy.

Hoy les comparto mi interpretación con la trompeta «C'est si bon» un Jazz Swing compuesto por Henri Betti, André Hornez, Jerry Seelen y popularizado por el gran trompetista Louis Armstrong. La melodía es encantadora con un movimiento ascendente y descendente que crea una sensación de alegría y optimismo. El ritmo es constante y bailable, con un tempo moderado. Esta pieza musical está escrita originalmente en francés y fue escrita y grabada en el contexto de posguerra. Algo que me encanta de esta pieza es el uso del scat singing como técnica vocal improvisada y el growling un efecto que se puede hacer tanto con los instrumentos como con la voz. He tenido la oportunidad de escuchar versiones de Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra y Chet Baker. Es una pieza que transmite una alegría indescriptible.
Recently, I participated in the #VIBES music contest and it has been a wonderful experience. When it comes to contests, one must set a strategy and even more so if you want to opt for some reward, even those that are personal satisfaction or feeling part of something. There are several challenges: choosing the right musical genre, a song that requires effort, but in the end you have an optimal or excellent performance. You can go for something classic with a high technical level, or something popular. This is similar to songwriters, you can write for yourself, or with others in mind. Something that would be terrible, because you would have to satisfy everyone. In the case of this contest, the task is enormous, especially because there is a diversity of genres, styles, with the voice, or with an instrument. There is also the cultural aspect and the language to choose. If I sing in English, or in Spanish, which will have relevance or greater impact? We will wait for it to happen in the next few weeks.

Recientemente, participé en el concurso musical de #VIBES y ha sido una experiencia maravillosa. Cuando se trata de concursos, uno debe fijar una estrategia y más si quieres optar por alguna recompensa, incluso aquellas que son de satisfacción personal o de sentirse parte de algo. Existen varios retos: escoger el género musical adecuado, una canción que te exija un esfuerzo, pero que al final tengas un desempeño óptimo o excelente. Puedes apostar por algo clásico de alto nivel técnico, o algo popular. Esto es similar a los compositores, puedes escribir para ti, o pensando en los demás. Algo que sería terrible, porque tendrías que satisfacer a todo el mundo. En el caso de este concurso, la tarea es enorme, sobre todo porque hay una diversidad de géneros, estilos, con la voz, o con un instrumento. También está el aspecto cultural y del idioma a elegir. Si canto en inglés, o en español, ¿cuál tendrá relevancia o mayor impacto? Vamos a esperar que ocurra en las próximas semanas.
