I Shot the Sheriff - Bob Marley (Cover) [ENG/SPA]
Saludos a toda la comunidad de #Music, hoy les traigo una interpretación con la trompeta de «I Shot the Sheriff» de Bob Marley. La canción es de género reggae y es una crítica sobre el sistema de Justicia. Un hombre es perseguido y acusado por un crimen que no realizó, solo mató al Sheriff en defensa propia. Al parecer el Sheriff sentía odio por el hombre y al no poder defenderse, se le acusa de matar a un oficial. Pienso que Bob fue influenciado por las cosas que vivió de niño en la calle. Esta canción fue lanzada en 1973, en medio de violencia política y una Guerra civil entre pandillas. Bob siempre fue un promotor de la paz y parte del movimiento rastafari. Definitivamente, su música siempre ha estado presente en mis oídos desde niño y es un referente de la cultura jamaicana.
Greetings to the entire #Music community, today I bring you a trumpet rendition of Bob Marley's "I Shot the Sheriff". The song is of the reggae genre and is a criticism of the Justice system. A man is hunted down and framed for a crime he didn't commit, he just killed the Sheriff in self-defense. The Sheriff felt hatred for the man and was unable to defend himself, he is accused of killing an officer. I think Bob was influenced by the things he lived through as a kid on the streets. This song was released in 1973, amid political violence and a civil war between gangs. Bob was always a promoter of peace and part of the Rastafarian movement. His music has always been present in my ears since I was a child and is a benchmark of Jamaican culture.
Esta canción la estuve practicando por varios días, al principio no fue una tarea fácil debido a que tiene unas notas relativamente altas que se repiten constantemente. Me tomé la tarea de hacer ejercicios por varias horas, entre los cuales quiero destacar los de flexibilidad y notas agudas. La nota más alta que llego actualmente es un Sol Sobre agudo, que serían unas 4 líneas adicionales por encima del pentagrama. Pareciese que es cuestión de hacer fuerza, sin embargo, estas salen con aire del diafragma. Se necesita presión para dar en el blanco, es decir en la nota correcta. La práctica más importante es mantenerse en esas notas por bastante tiempo y hacerlo con precisión. Una cosa que me gustó de esta canción es que es sincopada, su ritmo acentuado en un pulso débil, e incluso en los silencios. Hay varios efectos que se hacen con la trompeta que me gustan como el Glissando o el Fall down, espero en otra oportunidad tocarlos. Que disfruten de mi interpretación.
I have been practicing this song for several days, at first it was not an easy task because it has relatively high notes that are constantly repeated. I took the task of doing exercises for several hours, among which I want to highlight those flexibility and sharp notes. The highest note I currently hit is a high G Above, which would be an additional 4 lines above the staff. It seems that it is a matter of force, however, these come out with air from the diaphragm. It takes pressure to hit the target, that is to say on the right note. The most important practice is to stay on those notes long enough and do it accurately. One thing I liked about this song is that it is syncopated, its rhythm accentuated in a weak pulse, and even in the silences. Several effects are done with the trumpet that I like, such as the Glissando or the Fall down, I hope to play them another time. Enjoy my interpretation.

While we have musicians who sing for entertainment and fun, we also have wonderful musicians who sing to pass across great message in the society... yet some courageous musicians dare to talk about the negative happenings in the environment.
Bob Marley can be classified as part of the courageous musicians who continuously spoke up against vices and oppression.

La música de protesta tiene tanta fuerza y perdura en el tiempo, aún vemos tantas injusticias, vemos cómo las personas abusan de otros que le tienen confianza y a los que deberían cuidar y proteger. El poderse les sube a la cabeza a muchos y eso es muy triste.

Saludos hermanaso!! Definitivamente eres tremendo músico. Nada fácil lo que hiciste, esa canción tiene unos agudos bárbaros!! Es una de mis favoritas de ese gran artista Bob Marley. Me sé el bajo de esa canción, me encanta el bajo de esa canción. Igualmente la ejecuto en la guitarra. Así mismo las voces. No la he grabado porque no domino bien el inglés y menos el dialecto jamaiquino, pero en cualquier momento la grabo instrumental. Cómo siempre hermano excelente interpretación y una ejecución en la trompeta demasiado buena!! Éxitos, un abrazo.
