My experience managing CBW 2023 for Hive [ESP // ENG]

Caracas Blockchain Week, the largest crypto event in Venezuela, kicked off on October 24. This edition not only focused on business, but also on education. Hive together with other projects met in a space prepared exclusively to share the scope, the challenges ahead and possible solutions to continue building under the philosophy of Web 3.

Caracas Blockchain week in these two years has proven to be a great opportunity to connect with other projects within the Web 3, an ideal place to create connections with visionaries, communities and projects with similar principles and values to our network, building a new digital era that promotes decentralization in data management and finance, with essential features to connect all people in the world.

El 24 de octubre se dió inicio a la Caracas Blockchain Week, el evento más grande del mundo cripto en Venezuela. Esta edición no solo se centro en negocios, sino también en la educación. Hive junto a otros proyectos nos dimos cita en un espacio preparado exclusivamente para compartir los alcances, los desafíos que están por venir y las posibles soluciones para seguir construyendo bajo la filosofía de la Web 3.

La Caracas Blockchain week en estos dos años a demostrado ser una gran oportunidad para conectar con otros proyectos dentro de la Web 3, un sitio ideal para crear conexiones con visionarios, comunidades y proyectos con principios y valores similares a nuestra red, la construcción de una nueva era digital que promueve la descentralización en la gestión de datos y las finanzas, con características esenciales para poder conectar a todas las personas del mundo.

For CBW 2023 I was appointed by fellow @guiltyparties to manage all the details of Hive's participation. This led me at first to make a retrospective of my walk through the blockchain, in March 2019 was my arrival with the sole intention of getting a job on the web, I spend little time to realize that I had come to a site that promoted a substantial change to society. So I did not hesitate to join actively and in a few months I founded the @Hispapro project with the aim of adding value beyond the creation of content, at first we focused on accompanying and advising new users, the next step was to promote communities, at present, since 5 months ago we have made a logical evolution by becoming witnesses of Hive to be part of the network from its infrastructure. Right now we are preparing an update of our value proposition, but this will be a topic for another post. The truth is, it never crossed my mind to be writing these lines today as a representative of a global community, not just any community, but an active one, with defined values and principles that promotes the construction of a better world.

Para la CBW 2023 fui designado por el compañero @guiltyparties para gestionar todos los detalles de la participación de Hive. Esto me llevó en principio a hacer una retrospectiva de mi andar por la cadena de bloques, en marzo de 2019 fue mi llegada con la única intención de conseguir un trabajo en la web, paso poco tiempo para darme cuenta que había llegado a un sitio que promovía un cambio sustancial a la sociedad. Así que no dude en sumarme activamente y en unos meses fundé el proyecto @Hispapro con el objetivo de agregar valor más allá de la creación de contenido, en principio nos enfocamos en acompañar y asesorar a los nuevos usuarios, el siguiente paso fue impulsar comunidades, en el presente, desde hace 5 meses hemos hecho una evolución lógica al convertirnos en testigos de Hive para formar parte de la red desde su infraestructura. Ahora mismo estamos preparando una actualización de nuestra propuesta de valor, pero esto será tema para otro post. Lo cierto es que, jamás paso por mi mente estar el día de hoy escribiendo estás líneas como representante de una comunidad global, no una comunidad cualquiera, sino una activa, con valores y principios definidos que promueve la construcción de un mundo mejor.

The Caracas blockchain Week took place at the Catholic University "Andrés Bello", one of the most popular in the region and which has a great mobilization of students that undoubtedly points to one of our promotional currents that has given great results globally, crypto-education.

From the first moment I knew that it was a great responsibility and that many things had to be done to overcome Hive's presentation at CBW 2022. The first thing was to put together a core team to do a thorough planning and to be ready to develop it from start to finish. Keeping in mind the maxim that "all planning must be flexible".

La Caracas blockchain Week se desarrolló en la universidad católica "Andrés Bello", una de las más populares de la región y que cuenta una gran movilización de estudiantes que sin duda apunta a una de nuestras corrientes promocionales que ha dado grandes resultados a nivel global, la crypto-educación.

Desde el primer momento sabía que era una gran responsabilidad y que había que hacer muchas cosas para superar la presentación de Hive en la CBW del 2022. Lo primero fue juntar un equipo base para realizar una planificación minuciosa y que estuviera a dispuesto a desarrollarla de principio a fin. Teniendo en cuenta la máxima que reza, "toda planificación debe ser flexible".

On the other hand, at all times we thought that the "Caracas blockchain Week" should be an event to recognize the work done by most of the projects that make life within the country. So we did, this generated a little more organization to attend them all but I definitely think it was an achievement to be part of this recognition to each of these local leaders who every day are creating, designing and executing ideas to add value to our ecosystem.

The event was live for 5 days, however this was a months-long preparation, the choice of speakers, the people who were going to be attending the target audience. Despite inviting Hivers who have been working for years for blockchain, we organized study sessions to review and update the way we promote Hive. It was certainly a learning experience for those with less experience, but also for the more experienced ones. As a community we recognize the changing world so communication must also go through that process of improvement.

Por otra parte, en todo momento pensamos que la "Caracas blockchain Week" debía ser un evento para reconocer el trabajo realizado por la mayoría de los proyectos que hacen vida dentro del país. Así lo hicimos, esto generó un poco más de organización para atenderlos a todos pero definitivamente creo que fue un logro poder ser parte de este reconocimiento a cada uno de estos líderes locales que todos los días están creando, diseñando y ejecutando ideas para agregar valor a nuestro ecosistema.

El evento estuvo en vivo durante 5 días, sin embargo está fue una preparación de meses, la elección de los speakers, las personas que iban a estar atendiendo al público objetivo. A pesar de invitar a Hivers que han trabajado desde años por la cadena de bloques, organizamos sesiones de estudio para revisar y actualizar la forma en que promovemos a Hive. Sin duda fueron momentos de mucho aprendizajes para los que cuentan con menos experiencia, pero también para los más veteranos. Cómo comunidad reconocemos al mundo cambiante por tanto la comunicación también debe pasar por ese proceso de mejora.

In my personal opinion all expectations were exceeded, among the most humorous comments was the change of the name to "Hive blockchain Week". This was due to the wisdom of contracting a unique clause for Hive that stipulated the delivery of a badge ribbon and a bag, both labeled with the Hive brand. That's why in all the photos of the conference days and booth, everyone was carrying at least one merch of our blockchain.

En mi opinión personal se superaron todas las expectativas, entre los comentarios más jocosos fue el cambiar el nombre por "Hive blockchain Week". Esto debido al acierto de contratar una cláusula única para Hive que estipulaba la entrega de una cinta de identificación y una bolsa, las dos rotuladas con la marca Hive. Es por eso que en todas las fotos de los días de conferencias y stand, todas las personas portaban al menos una merch de nuestro blockchain.

I would also like to point out the execution of the first crypto-hackathon held in Venezuela by "think ando devs", an American software company focused on Web3 developments and that counts among its projects the execution of these crypto-hackathons to make independent visionary developers visible, but also to serve as an incubator for projects and businesses based on Web3.

También quiero señalar la ejecución de la primera crypto-hackaton realizada en Venezuela por "think ando devs", empresa de software estadounidense enfocada en desarrollos de Web3 y que cuenta entre sus proyectos la ejecución de estos crypto-hackatones para visibilizar a desarrolladores visionarios independientes, pero también para servir de incubadora de proyectos y negocios basados en Web3.

It was a great opportunity that we took full advantage of, we were present from the beginning of the competition with the challenge of testing the @SPKnetwork tesnet, which had as main consequence the presentation of Hive to all the competitors who gathered, most of them young developers and technology enthusiasts with great experience. The level of the participants was quite good, several of them have participated in other competitions and were among the first places.

For this task the intervention was masterful, in charge of @starkerz, @enrique89 and @dimeilaz. For which goes my gratitude and total respect.

Fue una gran oportunidad que aprovechamos al máximo, hicimos acto de presencia desde el inicio de la competencia con el reto de probar la tesnet de la @SPKnetwork lo que tuvo como principal consecuencia la presentación de Hive a todos los competidores que se dieron cita, la mayoría jóvenes desarrolladores y entusiastas de la tecnología con gran experiencia. El nivel de los participantes fue bastante bueno, varios de estos han participado en otras competencias y quedado entre los primeros puestos.
