Another Year

Before I knew it, another year of life has passed; in the blink of an eye, the years are now counted in the tens, and this means I’ve traveled a truly complex path, where I’ve experienced the bitterness of sorrow, the intensity of joy, and the anticipation of hope. Throughout all this time, I have discovered that life is like a roller coaster, constantly going up and down, sometimes at incredible speeds, but at other times with heavenly tranquility.

Una Año Más

Sin darme cuenta, arriba un año más de vida; en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, los años ya se cuentan por decenas y esto significa que he atravesado un camino realmente complejo, en donde he podido sentir la amargura de las tristezas, el furor de las alegrías y las expectativas de las esperanzas. En todo este tiempo, he descubierto que la vida es como una montaña rusa, en donde se sube y se baja de forma constante, a veces a una velocidad increíble, pero en algunos momentos también con una tranquilidad celestial.

Anyone who says that human life is easy is telling one of the biggest lies that could possibly exist, since as social beings we are marked by many unknowns, variables, and elements that escape our own understanding; This is how we explain the reality of fleeting friendships, unstable family relationships, and the diversity of thoughts and opinions that swirl around us day by day, and it is precisely within this human tapestry that we must grow and move forward. This is how I have held numerous jobs, met hundreds of people, and learned to always give my best without stepping on others.
El que diga que la vida humana es fácil está incurriendo en una de las mentiras más grandes que puedan existir, ya que como seres sociales estamos marcados por muchas incógnitas, variables y elementos que se escapan a nuestra propia comprensión, es de esta forma como explicamos la realidad de las amistades pasajeras, las relaciones familiares inestables y la diversidad de pensamientos y opiniones, que día a día giran a nuestro alrededor y es justo en esa diatriba humana en la que debemos desarrollarnos y seguir adelante, es así como he pasado por numerosos trabajos, he conocido a cientos de personas y he aprendido a siempre dar lo mejor de mí sin que esto signifique pasar por encima de los demás.

I believe that my approach—which is sincere, clear, and direct, yet at the same time respectful, tolerant, and conciliatory—is what has allowed me to make my way over the years in a society that has also been marked by economic, political, and social controversies. Without realizing it, I have forged deep friendships and left my mark in every place I’ve been, and this has meant that trivialities and nursing situations have been left behind.
Creo que mi forma de ser sincera, clara y directa, pero al mismo tiempo respetuosa, tolerante y conciliadora, es la que me ha permitido abrirme camino a través de los años en medio de una sociedad que también ha estado marcada por controversias económicas, políticas y sociales. Sin darme cuenta, he cosechado grandes amistades, he dejado huellas en cada espacio en el que he podido estar y esto se transforma en que han trascendido las trivialidades y las situaciones enfermeras.

That is how, at my current job, I was welcomed with a big surprise, many gifts, and, especially, a feeling of joy and sincere love, which transforms into positive energy that drives me to keep moving forward despite the difficulties. It is the warm hugs, the beautiful messages, and the smiles that come from the heart that are the true driving forces of my life, which I believe I am living to the fullest and with a truly positive purpose.
Es así como en mi actual trabajo me recibieron con una gran sorpresa, muchos regalos y, en especial, un sentimiento de alegría y amor sincero, el cual se transforma en energías positivas que me impulsan a seguir adelante a pesar de las dificultades. Son los abrazos fraternos, los mensajes bonitos y las sonrisas que salen del corazón los verdaderos motores de mi vida, la cual creo que estoy viviendo de manera plena y con un propósito realmente positivo.

On the other hand, my colleagues from my old job at the high school also showed up with incredible gestures, as they did come to my house as a surprise, with a cassava cake, a pumpkin cake, a soft drink, and, best of all, with a deeply festive spirit, breaking the daily routine, but gifting me with that friendship that is worth its weight in gold—a friendship that cannot be compared to absolutely anything in this world and that, at the same time, demonstrates how important it is to sow love in every aspect of our lives.
Por otro lado, mis compañeros de mi antiguo trabajo en el liceo también se hicieron presentes con detalles increíbles, puesto que sí llegaron a mi casa de sorpresa, con una torta de yuca, otra de auyama, un refresco y, lo mejor de todo, con un espíritu profundamente festivo, rompiendo con la rutina del día, pero regalándome esa amistad que vale oro, la cual no se puede comparar con absolutamente nada sobre este mundo y que al mismo tiempo demuestra lo importante que es sembrar amor en cada aspecto de nuestra vida.

I’m one of those people who tends to feel a bit apathetic whenever my birthday rolls around, but this time I have to tell you that happiness overcame those inner struggles, since the joy of all these days has been truly incredible. But the best part of all is feeling the thoughtfulness and knowing that in every detail there is deep sincerity, great camaraderie, and bonds of friendship that grow stronger and deeper as time goes by.

Yo soy de esas personas un tanto apáticas cada vez que llega la fecha de mi cumpleaños, pero en esta oportunidad debo decirles que la felicidad venció esos nudos internos, puesto que la alegría de todos esos días ha sido realmente increíble. Pero lo mejor de todo es sentir gesto y que en cada detalle se encuentra una profunda sinceridad, gran fraternidad y lazos de amistad que con el pasar del tiempo se vuelven más fuertes y más profundos.

I just hope to keep giving my best every day, so that I can leave a positive mark on every heart that crosses my path. From here, I want to thank all those people who made this day a special moment. For me, all of this was unexpected, but at the same time, it was a surprise that will undoubtedly leave a mark on my life and that I will remember forever.
Solo espero seguir dando lo mejor de mí cada día, para así poder dejar una huella positiva en cada corazón que se cruce en mi camino. Desde acá le quiero agradecer a todas aquellas personas que hicieron de esta fecha un momento especial. Para mí todo esto fue inesperado, pero al mismo tiempo se trató de una sorpresa que sin duda alguna marcará mi vida y recordaré por siempre.
